This song is awesome, despite being some sort of homage to Pink Floyd's "Pigs (Three Different Ones)".

First impression: a song about religion. The mentor is god. The mongrels on the different sides are different beliefs.

"Hey, did you find the pieces your mentor left behind?": Do you find any trace or evidence of a god?

"And did you care, did you trade his genius for your despair?": Did you stop believing and felt sad/lonely/hopeless?
