As of my first few listens, I thought this was about the people who wrote the bible (or any other ancient religious text for that matter), the sages hiding from the warming sun. To elaborate, the pages are contrived by old men attempting to program the minds of the feeble and Greg is saying that if he had the right tools he could do the same to you, program you to think the way he decides. The word delusion the most anti religious part of the song, saying that belief in these old texts is purely delusional but given the right time and place anybody could have made the people believe what they do.

I thought it seemed to be about how moralists myopic delusional vindications stand in the way to hinder science and progression. However, it also could be about global warming.
