Probably because that essay was written in December 1998, but wasn't added to the Bad Times newsletter until 2000.

(Took care of the typos, by the way. Thanks.)

When you click on someone's name the pop-up menu should say member's profile, rather than members profile. Also, the profile should say view member's posts rather than view members posts.

In user's profile the shows attended are mm/dd/yyyy format and will attend show are yyyy/mm/dd. Would be better to use the same format for both?

"1 user(s) have attended this show" this appears in upcoming shows as well. Could it be modified to say "1 user(s) will attend this show" for shows that have not yet happened?

Ok, fixed.

Yup. I forgot to apply the proper formatting to the date. They now behave exactly the same... depending on the user's profile setting.

Maybe the possibility to add yourself as a person who attended a show should be removed/disabled for cancelled shows.

I thought about that one... but we'd then have one exception:  the Dec. 29, 1990 show (the one of The Riot). People could have been there....

Hey there! I want to upload an image from my own computer into a message.
I think that the forum administrators must allow me, right?
If so, is it too much to ask?

Thanks, Christian

Right or wrong, the main criterion is what you do and not what you say.

You gotta use the Full Reply Editor (click on the Arrow icon, right before the question mark), my friend.

We're not allowing uploading of files. So when you want to insert an image in your post you first have to store that image on one of those image sites such as imageshack.us.
And, just like the others said, you'll have to use the Full Reply Editor.

Also, I've had a look at your profile settings and it seems that you've disabled the "WYSIWYG" editor. I've now enabled it and it all should work now.

You should show up on the tribute page, that how much characters are allowed ind the Details field. I wrote there thestory of the track I've made and then it sad an error message. Tried again and again. now as the details been REALLY SHORT the song is up. I think that so many uploads are prevented by this limit. The uploader my think because of the MYSQL blahblah, that the upload doesnt working. it works, but the limit of the details are unknown. Please do something with that if U really want to make those EPs. Thx!
Have a nice day!

First of all, thanks for the feedback that you're giving.
The field type in the database is "Text", which is capable of containing 64kB of data... which is a lot. Even if someone enters more data than that, the text would simply be truncated without showing an error.

I've had a look at the code again and I found a (really really reaaaally) stupid mistake. Trust me, it's really stupid. But it's fixed now.

My apologies to everyone who tried to submit a song but wasn't able to!

Yup. Your song is added.

However, there are some other songs that were uploaded of which I don't know who did it (because of that bug):

- Skyscraper-piano.mp3 (by Stephan & John)
- Man with a mission.mp3 (by Stephan & John)
- A Walk.mp3

The first 2 songs are performed by Stephan & John, so these are actually pretty old already... don't know the exact year though. We already have more songs from them in the Tribute section on this site.

If you're the one who submitted A Walk.... let's hear it :)

I get this message:

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

/tributes/add_song_submit.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.

Can I upload it to megaupload and just give you a link?

Crap. Another bug that's been squashed. Increased the timeout to 10minutes for people with a slower upload speed.

Good suggestion! I've now added an option to the song-submit-form that allows people to choose whether to upload a song or to input a link to, for example, megaupload.
