Is Amalur: The Reckoning a simple case of this list you made for Skyrim being improved upon, or do you think that your pirated version may have caused some of the listed problems?

I quit CoD: Black Ops less than a quarter of the way through because it was so boring and took up Batman: Arckham Asylum instead, which is proving to be good, but not great (thus far).

Hey Warstub, do you want a Be Mine Indie Bundle?  My friend gave me one but I wanted to donate as well so I have an extra one.

I have no idea what that is and this website - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63682 - worked but not the one you supplied.

I also have no internet at home.

It's just a bundle of indie games.  3 of 5 are really good games, I'm sure the other 2 are as well.  Usually these bundles don't have crap in them.

Never played a ME game before, was waiting to finally borrow ME2 (PS3 version) from my friend, but decided to give the ME3 single player demo a spin yesterday. I guess I shouldn't try to judge the demo because I don't know shit about the backstory but man did it suck. The characters were completely awful, the gameplay (I decided to play it as a roleplaying experience) was dull etc. Guess I still give ME2 a proper go some day, but I'm not in a hurry right now.

I sure as hell am, I got four characters ready for ME3 import :D

Haven't been this excited for a game in a while! I love the ME universe, I've even read some of the novels ^^ I don't think there's any other game series where your actions and decisions are so important along the way.

I liked the ME3 demo but it's hard to judge a game like this with just the intro and one mission.  That said it's great they brought back some of the RPG elements from ME1, overall player movement has been improved and melee is finally worth using.

There are many interesting characters in the ME games, maybe you can't see that in the short demo.  What class did you choose? Maybe you should retry with another.

I think you should definitely play the other games first since your actions and decisions carry over, and if you can, play ME1 too, the story is better and there's more RPG than in the second.

My friends and I have been playing a lot of the the multiplayer portion. Great stuff. My original plan was to have 4 or 5 characters to import, but I lost my save data, so just 1 for me. I CAN NOT WAIT.

I'm not that intelligent so you need to be a bit more specific about how to get these games - are they downloads? and are they for pc? I have an xbox360, and as I said no internet at home, so school internet is only for quick messaging. cheers.

I also am looking forward to it. I'm a big Science Fiction fan so discovering Dead Space and Mass Effect were a big thrill for me. ME2 was fun, but ultimately, just a buddy-story set-up for ME3, though (in my opinion) the gameplay was much improved from ME1 - ME1 had the better storyline though.

Yeah, I definitely want to replay both with the same character that I originated in ME2, but with all the characters saved and the same relationships. I kinda messed up going from ME2 to ME1 and then back to ME2...

ME1 isn't available on PS3, is it? I know that your decisions from the earlier games affect the later ones which sounds cool, but as I said it wasn't the small things but the overall feeling that irritated me. I'm just too tired of Space Marines, overdramatic characters etc. For example the thing with little boy was stupid, not touching.
AlexQuint if by class you meant military class I chose the Infiltrator, but yeah the demo was so short and didn't know the mechanics that well so maybe I shouldn't be judging the gameplay yet. Just saying that it felt like a boring cover-based shooter, but I'm sure there's more than that in the game.

The only time I was excited about a computer was back in 87 when I got my Spectrum ZX2 complete with Rambo.  I quickly lost interest in computers after that.  I used to wish I could get into consol games etc just to kill half an hour when i was bored etc, but now I'm glad they never took their hold as I have an addictive personality for everything else and (no offence to the hardcore gamers amongst us) I am really happy not to be sitting, shooting aliens for 8 hours a day.

Anyone else here exept for me hoping for a sequel of "Beyond Good & Evil"?

I also can't wait for ME3; pre-ordered the special limited edition months ago. I have 6 different Shepards, one in each (military) class; I prefer the infiltrator.

Sweeto! If I had a PC set up for gaming and internet available to me, I would have totally been down for it. I apreciate the thoughtfulness though. :)

Did anyone get a PS Vita? I've never been a big fan of handheld game consoles, but I'm curious, what do you guys think about it?

Non taken :D That said, I consider myself a hardcore gamer, and even if I wanted I wouldn't be able to play over 2 or 3 hours a day.  Most of the adult hardcore gamers I know can't either.
Besides, "shooting aliens" is a bit simplistic to say the least.  There are masterful games out there, experiences that simply can't be replicated in any other medium.  Games like Portal and BioShock prove that games can also be considered art.
Whether you're watching a movie, reading a book or playing a game, I think it's normal to have some kind of attachment if the story and the characters are well made.  That's why I'm excited :)

I didn't get the chance to play the original BG&E but I got the HD version for less than 4 bucks on Xbox Live, it's a nice game, and at that price it was a steal :p  A sequel was unveiled a while ago but it's coming for next-gen systems, you can watch a leaked early gameplay video here.
Since you like ME, maybe we could play some multiplayer one day.
