I really like Dead Space 2. I think I get what you mean by it being cartoony - graphic-wise? I guess I'm not phased too much by animation these days as I just want a good story, and I quite like the Dead Space 2 story. I'm also over realism in games as well - except car racing, of course.

The Witcher 2 is getting a massively awesome write-up in Xbox360 mag. As is Assassin's Creed III. I wasn't looking forward to ACIII before, but I am now!

That's kind of why I preffered Diablo to Diablo II. Remind me to check more screenshots before I get the third lol

I didn't find Diablo 1 to be particularly tense or creepy, myself. It's never been an argument I've understood about the series, though I do hear it a lot.

It just seemed more real, and the atmosphere was somehow more gloomy cause of the village and also cause of the graphics and color. There was a bit of a cartoonish side to characters and monsters in D2, and actually I found the graphics of the first one to be much more real, bright and human than in the second.

Blizzard games have been cartoonish since the early 90s when they were still From Software because they've always designed their games to run on the lowest common denominator of hardware.

Dude I don't remember when D1 was released lol, all I know is it seemed more like a fictional real world, and I spent summers having the time of my life roaming in it. When D2 came out, it was just like... way too much sand, and not only in the desert, it was everywhere.

I actually remarked on something similar as I made my way through D3. It's almost become a trope in and of itself this style of game to have the first act be grasslands and mountains, the second act be desert, the third act be tropical, and the fourth be "fantastical".
Titan Quest did this, several of the Dungeon Sieges did it, Silverfall followed a similar path, and many many others. It sucks. |

Hey guys! How's it going? Been a while since I last posted in here ^^ The biggest game event of the year (E3) took place two weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised with Watch Dogs & Tomb Raider. The Last of Us, Borderlands 2, Halo 4 and Planetside 2 also look great. As usual I made a video covering what I believe were the better games :) What did you think about the new games shown? Which ones caught your attention?
PS: Still haven't been able to pick up Diablo 3, how is it? I really liked 1 & 2

All the Lufias, and all the games from the Ogre Battle Saga. Edit; Oh yeah, the Seiken Densetsu line of games, Brain Lord, Robotrek, and I never played it but Bahamut Lagoon seemed pretty damn nice. Edit; Wizardry V Heart Of The Maëlstrom.

Hey, I really enjoyed your video! I haven't seen anything else from E3 because normally I watch trailers after I finished playing the respective game :) For anti-spoil-reasons, ya know? The ones from your vid that especially caught my attention were "Beyond: Two Souls" (Too bad it's only for PS3), "Halo 4" (Such a freakin bummer that most of that series is only available for xbox) and "Watch Dogs". I should say that I'm a PC-only gamer. I found it great that you didn't include AC3 (except for that very short part at the beginning) because that's a game I'll definitely buy and I don't want to see anything from it before that. |

Seiken Densetsu doesn't run that nice on my phone, its all good anyways I've beaten it a bunch. The Lufias are almost uniformly awful except for Lufia 2, it's the only one that did anything to set itself apart from the pack. The first one is generic JRPG and the one for GBC was just plain stupid. Lufia 2 is one of my favorite games though <3. Robotrek is another one I've been through countless times, love it ! Bahamut Lagoon was pretty cool. |

@Alex, my favorite showing from E3 was the Last of Us. It was the only AAA title being developed that looked like something special. Dishonored looked GREAT but had little originality; it looks like Bethesda just looked at whats trending in FPS games right now and threw in everything but the kitchen sink just to see what stuck to the wall. Mind you, this turned out superbly for Darksiders which didn't have an original bone in it's body but still turned out fantastic.
Tomb Raider reboot has potential, we'll see what happens. Squeenix is so fucking hit or miss. Watch Dogs looks like a relatively generic open world game, but I'm leery to make any sort of commitment here - Ubisoft Montreal has been on a fucking roll lately, so I have high expectations of it in that regard. Sure, it LOOKS really pretty but is the gameplay really going to set it apart from Deus Ex all that much? We'll see. I don't feel it deserved all the "Best Of E3" praise showered on it. Star Wars 1313 looks like it could be really good but Star Wars games are almost universally awful so it's terrible. Halo 4 actually made Halo look fun since the first one. I can't remember a lot of what else was shown but most of it was pretty meh. Waaaaaaaay too many boring sequels. Nice to see IndieCade with a display there. E3 a mere shadow of what it used to be. |

Haha, yeah, the first one is kinda generic, and I haven't played the GBA one. The only thing I didn't like about the second one is how I beated every single boss and battle on the first try and besides some of the puzzles, the game was too easy as a whole. The soundtrack is pretty epic though, the arranged versions that came along the OST of the recent DS remake is amazing. Edit: That piece is actually one of the theme songs to my life, although the original looping versions are more appropriate lol

@Gravel, The Last of Us does look great, it's like a more mature survival version of Uncharted :) It's cool and rare to see a AAA developer release a new IP now that the new generation of consoles seems so close. Same goes for Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls which looks promising.
What I actually liked about Dishonored is that it reminded me of games I love like Half-Life, BioShock and Skyrim but like you said it's not really original. I too hope 1313 is better that the usual Star Wars games :p As for Watch Dogs, it might end up being just another open world game but so far it got me excited, it has an interesting setting and it looks really nice, so nice some believed it was next-gen (turns out it was running on a high-end PC ^^) oh and Quantum Conundrum looks nice too |

It seems lately that most new games suck a lot so I started a new character of Dragon age II.
When I bought year more than a year ago, I was disapoointed since DA-II seemed dumbed down compared to DA-1. But, now I can see that this a good game, not great, that will keep me occupied until for a while ;) |

100 hours into Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Most time I have ever spent on one video game. Not particularly hard, complicated/complex, or impressive in detail and characterisation, but it is definitely great fun to play!
