Hey all,
I'm sure you've noticed that loading certain pages in the Disco, Collectibles, Media and Image Gallery were terribly slow. This was caused by all the images that are displayed there and in fact were turned into thumbnails on-the-fly for every single person every time he/she visits that particular page. As a lot our images are quite large (and they should be), this dynamic thumbnail creation could take some time... and thus pages would appear to load slowly.
I've now implemented an improvement that makes all the mentioned pages load a lot, lot faster.

I thought it was just me, but then the pages started stalling at work, and then on my phone :S
 
Oh, and thanks for those wonderful little thumbnails in the discography. I was so excited when I saw those this morning! Which probably doesn't say much for the excitement levels in my life...  :)

Oh, right. I totally forgot to tell about that too!

It was always any issue for the Discography editors to decide which image to display as the main images/thumbnail. Especially for colored vinyl this looked quite weird sometimes.
They can now decide for themselves to display multiple images, making it much clearer what kind of version it is.. and still have the normal cover as main image.
God I hated those lists of vinyl pictures without seeing the cover :D

Now could someone *finally* submit some good photos of the LPs in the box set (front, back, the whole shebang)??

Yes! It looks so much neater now! And being able to see the thumbnails of the labels/ vinyl itself is brilliant.
 
I will submit photos of the box set after I convince borby to let me to. He's staunchly refused to let me unwrap the box and the vinyl. I'm putting the pressure on...

Im in that discography world. No pictures. Just "name" and resolution. If i point my mouse arrow thing to that and click, then i see some pictures and i am happy but why it is like that?

    Try doing a complete refresh of that page: [Ctrl] + F5
    Maybe you have some old/outdated files in your local cache.

    Doesn't work! And theres nothing in my cache! I keep my cache clean.

    Same thing in Collectibles!

    Seems to be working on Chrome. But i use only Firefox!

    The image URLs in Firefox look like this: http://www.thebrpage.net/discography/%5Cimg%5Cdiscography%5CVariations%5C667_suffer_tapeB_h60.jpg

    I guess Firefox doesn't like those backslashes in the img tags.

    you should look at your junk mail folder once and a while to make sure your filter hasn't gobbled up an email you may want to see.   much like the shoutbox is a gobbler of shouts... much like brett relig..... forget it.

    Indeed. I screwed up some of the back/forward slashes but all browsers could handle it anyway..... except Firefox that it.
