    Posted: 04/19/2012 at 22:53
Hello, I recently bought the reissues of most BR albums. While listening to No Control with earphones, I noticed a short, subtle but easily noticeable skipping sound (for lack of a better term) in the first 2-3 seconds of several songs (tracks 1, 4, and 12, and possibly others). Like I said, it "skips" only once and it's relatively subtle, but I did hear it quite clearly the first time I listened to the album. The CD is flawless, and I mean flawless, so I'm pretty sure that's not a defective CD issue. I listened to youtube versions of these songs, and the skipping wasn't present (probably the original version of the album). Can anyone who has the remastered version confirm what I'm hearing? Thanks.

I think the skipping you hear is me just hitting back the first 5 or 6 seconds of many of the tracks to hear the intro again.

Goddamn I love the way that album sounds - Greg sort of sped up and chipmunky, This fruity guy jabberwock's bass more present than any album (and some fun quick lines too) and it just sounds different and sort of like they recorded it in a UFO.  It's within seconds of Suffer's length, but it shreds through it =  seems like it's one of those old 7inch records you'd find from some cool short lived band with half a dozen songs on each side that if you lost or scratched you'd never hear again

No Control, will you marry me.

I heard it too. In the beginning of "You", "Anxiety", "Billy" there is a little "tape-crumple" problem.

Is it actually sped up at all? Greg's voice does sound different in this album.

Thank you DuReX, "tape-crumpling" is probably a better term than "skipping".

i don't think so, greg adopted a more nasally delivery or something, same on his vocals on S and M airlines and a lot of acoustic demo's around that time, or before (like acoustic 1000 more fools)

it's interesting that he went from how he sounded on suffer, to nasally on NC, a little less nasal on against grain, and then to generator with the perfect mix of suffer Greg and Chevy commercial Greg

I concur. I find it to be more hearable and audibly played more perfectly on Suffer. Cooler riffs too lol

As about Greg's voice, all I'll say is I know it did the same to me when I was toking way too much hash roflmao
