Bad Religion not hardcore? Maybe not anymore, but back then they surely were. The American Hardcore book has been my "right-hand man" for every sociology paper I have written throughout my college career. Every music fan should have it in their library/

More shamefully though is the fact that, like I say, they almost jump from punk in the late 70s/early 80s to the so-called 1994-the year that punk broke period and they mention Green Day, Offspring, Rancid (I didn't know Rancid had made the same kind of impact in the US as the first two, according to this documentary), then they pass on to Sum 182 and that's it. No fucking mention of Bad Religion! :hate: As for the second documentary, it hasn't been released yet but the official site also lists Bad Religion (and particularly Graffin) among the interviewees. That's it, my contribution of the day, without vaseline, how much can you take?

Well, as a matter of fact, I remember reading early interviews in which Brett was quoted as saying that Bad Religion was a "melodic hardcore" band. While we are at it, let's not forget about these other two punk rock documentaries: Don Letts's Punk: Attitude and Punk's Not Dead. The former came out last year and it covers mostly the punk roots (Stooges, MC5 and the likes), Ramones, Pistols and The Clash, of course, then it addresses its ramifications (Television and other much more obscure bands) but shamefully it doesn't pay much attention to the 80s and it almost dismisses that period. Henry Rollins's lines are very funny though, specially his ironic comments on Agnostic Front and similar sweaty macho hardcore movement groups hehehe...

Hey!
I looked at the movie press kit, and Bad Religion Will Be In The Movie. Also Circle Jerks.
Check the press kit, yourself at the movie site. I can't post the link because of the word length limit thing...
