Yes Sir, California born and raised. One of my first songs I learned on guitar was American Jesus 11 or 12 years ago. Why don't we form a cover band, record a video, put it on YouTube, and then post it on this website as news? Relax, I'm just kidding. I have been playing Bad Religon songs since I was a kid, though.
And yes, I do hate these bands. I don't use the word "hate" lightly. Judging from the way you were talking about them, I don't have to explain it to you. Going to a festival and having very little to be festive about just doesn't sound like a good use of my time or money.

i HATE it when BR is on warped tour... now BR fans have to fight through hoards of 15 year old brats who came to see garbage like Story of the Year just to see a fricken 30 minute set in too large of a venue. god this sucks.. why can't they just do a club show tour...

WOW. That sounds like you really hate these bands...though I understand. It sounds like you live in Cali. If so, you understand more than me that all of these bands are pretty much doing the same formulaic thing and all sound the same. What was the last time something did something new that sounded good?
Speaking of which. We should form a BR cover band. Some of you may think this is gay, but that sounds fun to me. Like the tons of beatles cover bands. we make an official one for the greatest punk band.

And besides Bad Religion you had Pennywise, The Circle Jerks, Social D, The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, X, and countless other great bands. That's worth my money! Bands like Yellowcard? I'd rather play naked "Twister" with the Golden Girls than see those talentless hacks again.

That's a good question. My personal feeling is that (aside from the heat and the standing around all day) that even though the price for the ticket is reasonable I still feel like my hard earned dollars are supporting bands I most definitely don't want to support. I'd much rather pay $30 to see Bad Religion play than to pay $30 to be charged outrageous prices to keep myself from being dehydrated while I wait around for the bands I want to see...and try like hell to avoid the ones I don't. I think that the Warped tour can be a great platform for new bands to get exposure. The problem is that there are too many bands playing at once, and with that many bands playing you're definitely going to end up with a significant number of them who just plain suck. The only outdoor concert I've truely enjoyed in the last 9 years was the KROQ Punk show 3 or 4 summers ago. Only Blink 182, The Offspring, and 1 other band sucked. The rest were good-to-great (out of 40!). Of Course...Bad Religon played.

Why is that anyway Boltzzman? I remember 7 or 8 years ago I would have driven 200 miles to see warped. Now, it comes to my city every year and I aint going near there.
The price in itself isn't completely unreasonable. You go to a BR or Social D or NOFX show, tickets for them alone are gonna be about 20 bucks. What's ten more for tons of punk bands.
Its just the quality of bands. Last time I went was 03. It was hard to swallow that Yellowcard and Taking Back Sunday and the like were on the same bill (and a better timeslot) than The Vandals, Bouncing Souls or Alkaline Trio. It was such a hot day, that after BR played I remember seeing mostly everybody leave and not even stick around for Alkaline Trio. I don't like the first two bands I listed and they are not punk. Don't mean to offend anyone who is a fan of them...but who are we kidding anyway? They shouldn't even be there. Even Eminem and Redman (1999 warped tour) seemed more of a fit than those two bands...

Warped Tour has definitely gotten progressively worse. What you guys that are going to Warped Tour need to do is scalp tickets at reasonable prices for dumbasses like me, who drove an hour to San Francisco the last Warped Tour i went to with friends who had a person on the inside to get them two in but not me, who had to pay $70 to some bitch scalper because I didn't have the prescience to buy a ticket before hand or at least wait around for half an hour after the box office told me they were definitely sold out, yes, only half an hour later at which point those same bastards put up a sign saying they had more tickets. I hate Warped Tour. But I'd do it again to see Bad Religion.

I'm glad we agree that Warped Tour has become a less than stellar endeavor. I like what it's supposed to be, not what it's become.

Try reading a little closer. I was defending the point of view that people should be allowed to express their opinion.
If everyone had to ask everyone else to make a comment, this would be a ghost town of a message board. No one asked you to post a comment? Try thinking about these things before you type them.
And I agree, Warped Tour has gotten worse every year.

Changing the world one blog comment at a time, giving the opinion nobody asked for...Boltzzman for president. Protecting the BR message board from the likes of those who offer there own opinion.
Just for the record, Warped Tour sucks ass now. But they shouldn't cut the set time for all bands for the one and only BR or NOFX or whoever. Its all very egalitarian and has its roots in the original punk ideal that all bands are equal.

I agree. How dare you people express your own opinions! We should all listen to Cuz, even though he doesn't offer anything to back up his claim (like the name of his band). I know when I go to see Bad Religion it costs at least $60 a ticket! (Well, maybe in Canadian dollars).
I think you need to relax Cuz. Some people love Warped tour and some people think it gets progressively worse every year. No one was attacking you personally. Calling people a bunch of babies while acting like one yourself is hardly productive. There are many more effective ways to get your point across. Calm down and express your point of view rationally. Even if you don't like what these folks have to say, they certainly have the right to say it calmly without being harangued because your unhappy about the fact that you didn't get to see the other bands play. You got to PLAY Warped tour. I think that's pretty damn good. If the people on this website don't like Warped tour, however, yelling at them doesn't help.

Man there are alot of fucking babies here!!! If you don't like Warped Tour then pull up your diaper and go the fuck home!!! We don't want you there anyway!!! I play in a band that has played the final leg of Warped Tour for the last 5 years and everytime we go to the US all we hear is a bunch of bullshit about how people don't wanna stand around all day just to see the bands they came to see. Would you rather spend $30 to see a shit load of kick ass bands play all day or spend $60-100 to see a couple shit ass bands open for the one band you spent all that money to see? No one can honestly tell me that out of the 5+ stages there are at every stop that there isn't at least one good band playing at all times on at least one stage!!! I never get to see all the bands I want to see and I get to watch from the side stage!

Warped Tour doesn't give Bad Religion the respect they deserve with a half-hour set. As great as it is to expose the kids to their music, I can imagine they would only be able to stick to the hits as JOHNVICOIUS stated. I think Warped Tour should really give bands specialized time slots, allowing bands like Bad Religion more time on stage to play more diverse material.
In addition, Warped Tour really needs to avoid the Hardcore & Emo bands in favor of up-and-coming straight-up punk acts such as The Adicts and Osaka Popstar as well as crowd favorites like Mindless Self Indulgence, Jello Biafra, and whatever band constitutes The Misfits these days.

keep in mind that theyre the first band confirmed of what usually ends up being around a 100 band roster. if some more decent bands get added, warped tour might end up being very much worthwhile. The most ive ever payed for a warped tour ticket is $30, and when I went to a BR headlined concert in SF in 2004 I payed $35. You cant complain about next years warped tour until you see some shitty bands on their list, and as of now 100% of all confirmed bands kick ass. I agree that the tour's integrity is declining with each year, but im not goingto make any assumptions about the coming year until I know what bands follow...

Whoever said they wanted to hear popular songs, when was the last time you heard BR play a song that they haven't been playing for the last 10 years? They add two or three new tracks from any new albums but it's always the same recycled stuff live.

This is great news. I don't care what majority thinks, I usually have a good time at Warped Tours. Yes, every year becomes progressively worse but its a nice time to check out a few bands that you do like. Last year Helmet was there and I caught Only Crime at their only show, both worth me attending.

At least they're gonna get to other places besides California. I went to the 2004 warped tour just to see them, and I had to wait the whole fucking day because they were the closing band. It was by far worth it though as I got the whole band's autographs.

i hate the warped tour
first of al
im not going to an all day long concert to see 3 good bands play for 30mins.
Second bad religions probly gonna only play the realy popular songs and a few tracks from the new album, witch mean there probly gonna stick to songs like 21 centuray digiatal boy, fuck armardgeddon, amarican jesues, ect, I want to here them play more songs that havnt got much attention, or that arnt as popular.
third the warped tour is were all the cool kids go, i dont feel welcom there, id be alone(like in a bad religion concert, but i could meet pepole there).

Definately disappointing... I've never seen them play Cleveland except on Warped Tour and have been waiting for a chance for years but it never comes around. I'll go anyway. They're too good to pass up.
