If you're listening to any mp3 that is 192 or lower, I don't get how you can enjoy it. The drums are always clipping around.
really, if you can't hear the difference between a 128 and 320 rip, that's cool. you don't have to be so picky. I don't get how you don't hear because it's extremely obvious. it might be that the 320 rip isn't actually a true 320 rip..I really don't know why you wouldn't be able to hear it. 128 is something people would generally find pretty painful to listen to.

The acoustic version of Sorrow is great. I love that Dylan-ish sounding guitar.
On an off topic note, does anybody know what the last CD single BR released was? It seems as they didn't bother to release one this time... still wish that they'd make a video though.

New chapter was recorded but didn't turn out right so it was shelved so I doubt it will see the light of day as a b-side, might be saved for the next album

"encode in 256Kb MP4 at 48,000Hz" now 48khz doesnt make sense, unless you rip vinyls or dvds. cd have only 44khz. why you dont go then for 96khz?

It's pretty cool having acoustic versions of these songs after seeing Greg perform them live last summer (actually...a year ago this weekend; is it pathetic I still know the exact date?). And something tells me there are other B-sides from this album that will be released sooner or later. I could be wrong, but who knows...

Since we are talking Japanese Bonus tracks, does anyone have an mp3 of Rancid's Dead and Gone? It was a song off of the Let Me Go EP which was a Japanese import. I can't find it anywhere on the net. Does anyone know of any rancid sites I could get it from? NMoH rules!

with 128kb/s MP3 u lose ALOT of the dynamics on the piece ie the top and bottom ends. i notice it IMMEDIATLY. i encode in 256Kb MP4 at 48,000Hz. lovely stuff :)

Acoustic Sorrow and God Song? That's nothing new, I swear BR have performed those many times. A bit disappointing. I was hoping for completely new songs.
Oh and regarding the debate about music bitrate, I personally prefer 192kbps The quality is pretty good and the size is fine too. And people who listen to tons of music should definitely be able to tell the difference between 128 and 320. Just use good quality headphones, and the difference is there alright.

Music cd's are getting louder:
I would blame the horrible rep on CD's quality (aside any natural defencies compared to LP) on that.
Just compare the old cd's from the 80's with the onesin 00's.
CD's volume has been increasing and honestly it's a rather digusting thing to witness for yourself with your ears.
And there is a difference between 128 & 320, but a much less noticable difference between 192 & 320,
and Im not even touching VBR or V0's ;D. Of course, a lot of 320 rips arent true rips, aka transcodes,
which means they were upscaled from 128 bit or 192 instead of directly ripped from the source (cd, LP etc),
which would result in a lot of crappy 320 rips (or even 192 rips).

I say the hell with all digital music. LP is still the purest form of sound. Everything else has quite some losses.

you must have really crappy speakers / soundcard, or just a crappy source it was ripped of if you cant hear a difference between both bitrates. and the differnce in size is ridiculous small. if i would have a say, all rips should be in flac format at least.

why the hell does people rip mp3s in 320kbps??? it's insane, it just takes up heaps of space, and the quality is not better at all, unless you have concert speakers. can someone please rip this in normal 128kpbs bitrate and upload, that would be great?
