I was at the Vans in Jean-Drapeau park, Montreal yesterday. BR played a classic set for the Vans, including 3 songs from the new album. Here's the songs they played, the 1st 5 are in order, and the last 2. I'm not sure about the middle of the set but that's the 12 songs they played:

"I saw the August 7 warped tour show in Noblesville, Indiana. They were the last band on at 8:15. Most of the crowds had already left so there wasn't too many people, but those who stayed were the ones who really wanted to see Bad Religion.

"Bad Religion! The Main reason I went to warped tour.

They hit the stage at 7 o'clock.

Greg Graffin commented on how this show had the best weather of the tour. Poked fun at the new england accent: 'Who here is from New HAAAAAAAAMSHAHHH?!'

Jay Bently taped a frog to his microphone.

Someone threw brian there minor threat shirt. Brian said: 'Tell Ian I said hi!'

They also said they would be back in this area for a fall tour!"

Bad Religion was this year's grandad of the tour. Around since the early 1980s, they delivered a set that vacillated between driving guitars, metal-like solos and vocal harmonies that were a nice break in a sea of outright screaming. But when vocalist Greg Gaffin sang the lyrics to the songs New Dark Ages and Requiem for Dissent, he limited his anger to a clenched fist and at times looked like he should be singing at a rowdy wedding.

There were two marquee bands at this show, representing either end of the Warped spectrum. One was Bad Religion, which lived up to the billing with a heavyweight set of vintage California punk complete with raging guitars, sing-along chants and professorial frontman Greg Graffin's pronouncements on power, corruption and lies. New songs like "Requiem for Dissent" held up against BR classics like "Infected" and the set-closing "Sorrow."

Bad Religion returned to the Warped Tour and enjoyed well-deserved hero worship as the senior punks of the day. The band earned its devotion with a crisp set culled from new songs and classics, each tune a smart, provocative invitation to agree with Bad Religion that the status quo is evil and soul-crushing. It was amazing to see the hands and cheers go up when singer Greg Graffin asked how many were seeing the 20-year-old Bad Religion for the first time that day. And that gets to another ingredient of Warped?s continued success, as it not only provides a platform for the new flavors of punk but celebrates the roots of independent rock.

REP Greying vets celebrate 25 years of dishing out fiery, political SoCal punk.

VITALS Do these dudes have anything left to prove? Not at Warped they don't - Bad Religion's headlined this tour a half-dozen times already. But don't expect them to phone it in. Greg Graffin and Co. are an indestructible unit, and even if they keep making the same damn record over and over, there's something to be said for consistency.

FOR THE RECORD Their 14th studio effort, New Maps Of Hell, is a familiar retread of oohs and ahhs, professor Graffin words ("transubstantiation") and metronome-precise punk tighter than a squirrel's ass. It may be interchangeable with their Reagan-era output, but it delivers the goods. You can bet their closing set at Warped will do the same.
