Maybe the simplest solution would be to stick to "Brett got married for the first time" without mentioning anyone's name or "Brett married Maggie".

Brett is like Maradona. As a professional (guitarrist and song writer), he is genious, but as a person, he sucks a lot, it is not an example for a punk rocker kid.

According to uncyclopedia.org the only reason it is "The Offspring" is because the band thought the word "The" was awesome.
