So IGN managed to put together yet another punk list. This is what they had to say about Pete Finestone:
"Throughout the mid to late '90s the "Fat Wreck" sound was all the rage. The tag was named after the bands who recorded for the Fat Wreck Chords label, namely Lagwagon, No Use For A Name, and Strung Out. Most of the drummers in these outfits grew up on a steady diet of Bad Religion. The L.A. band fought through the '80s while most of the bands they were surrounded with were playing pop kissed hard-rock, these old-schoolers stubbornly let their punk flag fly. Bad Religion's drummer throughout the entire period was Pete Finestone. Sure, the guy was never on the cover of Modern Drummer or anything but his hypersonic playing style has been copied so many times he should be getting some kind of special royalty for it. "
The list also includes Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendents, Lemonheads, etc.) followed by Travis Barker of Blink-182, Earl Hudson of Bad Brains, Tre Cool of Green Day, Josh Freese of countless bands including The Vandals, Tommy Ramone of Ramones, Jordan Burns of Strung Out, Dave Wagenschutz of Lifetime, Paint It Black, Kid Dynamite and others; and "Topper" Headon of The Clash.
Visit IGN.com for the complete list.
Previously, it was Greg Graffin who had made another IGN top ten list. He was included in the category of Great Punk Rock Singers.

The list is weak, although I am really happy Bill Stevenson is on it as he is absolutley phenomenal and i would probably place him as #1 on any drumming list for his style, stamina, and influence. Pete Finestone is great though, much better than bobby (who in my opinion was very weak) but not as good technically as brooks, but far more influential and had better songs to work with. Lucky Lehrer, Chuck Biscuits, DH, Jeff Nelson, ROBO, and many others should replace the talentless crop they have, but thats just my opinion.

Pete's drumming ws great where he utilized the snare as the main emphasis on the beat, Bobby's was great as he accentuated his drumming with quick fills and rolls, and Brooks is a great combination of the two while keeping his own signature jazz/rock style.
But in the end I prefer Bobby's drumming more. Nothing beats those high ride hits and quick fills on the "Stranger than Fiction" record.

LOL tested... knock on wood. We EXPECT to be hearing the longest continuous BR line up when another record comes out next year. That's still a good while in the future! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though.

Pete Finestone was always my favourite BR drummer. Unless that is due the fact he was the drummer in the 80's when I first when hardcore into BR and the songs hit me so much more back then, not sure.
It is not taking anything away from the other BR drummers. But even if you watch the "Along the Way" video something about Pete Finestones style is mesmorising.
Pete Finestone the best ? So Bobby Schayer and Brooks Wackerman are weak ? That's bullshit !!!
I don't really think its saying the others are weak, just that Finestone's drumming was so difinitive of that period, perhaps even influential.

Where's Chuck Biscuits? That list is pretty much rubbish. Too many boring drummers from boring bands.
