Hey, I'm calm. I'm sorry if what I said sounded "hateful". In a way I was trying to be an ass. If "Do What You Want" pisses him off, AND he's catholic, I don't see how he could like any Bad Religion song. Fundamentally, that song IS what the band is about. Besides, in my opinion if you're a follower of any organized religion then you have no business criticizing BR... it has nothing to do with free speech.

I dunno too much about BR, tho my favourtie song is "I Want To Conquer The World"... I Read somewhere that American Jesus has been called the best BR song ever, which i highly disagree with... it's pretty descent, tho.

i think you should calm down and not be so hateful B.R.P. Our Catholic friend here is entitled to his own opinions about these songs just as you are. I personally don't feel that "Do What You Want" is their best song either. While it doesn't make me angry, being athiest, i still have support for his outrage. And what better place to make his comments than a webiste about the band he's commenting on. Freedom of speech, son. learn it.

to Al: I can't imagine why you would even be reading things on this website.
1. You're a catholic
2. A Bad Religion song "pisses you off"
so 3... You are not worthy of the music you are complaining about!
For penance you will listen to 3 "Suffer"s, 1 "Against the Grain", and 1 "Shattered Faith".
Go in peace my son... go the fuck out of here and listen to some Bad Religion!

Yeah why is this the best Bad Religion song? Geez I think it is one of thelr worst and at one time would skip this song when it comes on. Maybe because I was raised as a catholic and I still am but geez this song completely is not what the band is about. It's only point is to piss people off and usually pisses me off in the process.

Bad Religion has been my favorite band for eleven years now, but Do What You Want is just not a good song.

Duh! People, don't you realize that it's just that guy's (Jordan Baker) opinion? It's the same if any of you had a website with NEWS and decided to post that Brett and Greg are still the most amazing songwriters in the history of music. I find his post original because it's obviously a statement of his support to Bad Religion. And it's like "Hey guys, in case you didn't know, 'Do What You Want' is still the best song ever as of today"... Like when the guys at Buddyhead post on ther NEWS section that "Limp Bizkit still sucks"...
So I just submitted that piece of news because it made reference to Bad Religion and in a very original, rather unusual, way. And I encourage everyone to do that whenever you see Bad Religion's name mentioned in any website (obviously with some kind of relevance). I really want to see how much the world 'cares' about our favourite band.

does this website have any authority to say which song is best? according to some polls I've heard, it was Along the Way. to have this site just flat-out say Do What You Want (although a pretty damn good song) is the best is just too self-righteous for me. i dont have a favorite, because all their albums kick ass and ill listen to any of them and sing along in my car when i'm driving to school.

"Do What You Want" isn't my favorite...actually my favorite BR song changes weekly. Same as BR cds. One week I'll be obsessed with Against the Grain, another week it'll be The Gray Race, next it might be Stranger Than Fiction...it all changes!

I have to agree,
there isnt really a "best song"
it depends on your mood etc
and every song is an adventure itself :)

I'm not sure I could pick the "best song ever", or even my favourite BR song, but I do know that "Do What You Want" is not either one.

I would have to say that "Do what you want" is the quintessential BR song, seeing as how it wrapped up their entire attitude in just over a minute. But the BEST BR song? Hands down..."Shattered Faith"

I'd like to know where he got that from, because I totally disagree. It's simple and boring, now 15 years after the album release.
