Hmm, yeah. Well long story short, I have the full album sitting on the HDD. Was a bit disappointed at first, it definitely takes a few listens. But once it 'clicks', it's great. I'll be buying a copy upon release date without a doubt, I am that satisfied with what I hear.

Regardless of how quick Epitaph have acted, they'd have to focus on more than two site. I just found said mp3s five minutes ago with a quick Google search. After listening to them.. I can't help but feel it's not BR. THey're still decent, but two sound bordelining into certain 'punk' acts that shall remain nameless. The other one makes me want to pre-order the album right now, so long as the ratio of meh:good isn't 2:1 like this example.

today's technology is so accesible to everyon. before these mp3's and stuff people had to wait to buy the albums first, life was so simple back then and it was better for the record companies too. I download music from Kazaa to see if some songs are pretty good or not. and if they're good i go out and buy their record, so i'm giving something back to the companies. But Bad Religion, i'll make an exception, 'cuz i know they're music is awesome so there's no need to download song by song knowing the entire album is the best.......73 days and counting till teh new album arrives

Epitaph Rocks... major labels would have probably been like "take em down and we will drop half the charges against you as we take your family and house from you for taking a song from us" but Epitaph... such respect, i admire everyone there for everything they do. Amazing....
on another note: im wondering if there are going to be any bonus tracks, and i can only imagine how awesome they would be, i mean, for process they had Shattered Faith, which i think is an amazing song, and for New America they had like 4 bonus songs, and so on... ill have to buy all the foreign copies of the album as well :)

The problem with bonus songs is that:
a) they are often really great and should have been on the original album
b) hard to get
c) it's very expensive to buy like 3 full albums just to get a few more songs

I remember when The Process of Belief was going to come out. I remember I got the MP3 of Sorrow taped off of KROQ when they played it on Halloween 2001, then like a week or two later the whole album was leaked on the internet, so I bet Epitaph is just hoping that something like that doesn't happen again. I also remember about TPOB that they were finished recording in like July 2001, then they had to wait until January 2002 to release it...that would suck to have to wait that long to release an album (if I was in the band) but at least this time they settled on a release date cause they changed it like 3 times with TPOB.

i hope they will not stream the new album! Then are these radio recorded songs of better quality and BR says that one of the reason why they don't like leaked songs are just because of the poor quailty. Then it wouldn't be fair to stream the album. It would be better if they could release some song in mp3 format with at least 192 kbps.
It's right what we did was unleagal but i think that it IS LEAGAL to share these songs to your friends. At least in sweden, its legal to tape a radio show and use it for your personal use (included sharing it with your friends). So i can't see any legal issues to not share this with your friends but probably it was unlegal to make the songs avalible on this website.
But then again, the fact is that BR don't want to sue anyone, they just don't want us to hear the songs the firast time with very poor quailty.

maybe they asked that you take them down cuz they were embarassed at the songs' similarities to the no substance material. i love br, i think their approach to taking them down was applaudable. but here's hoping the other stuff is better.

well, i?m not sure what "we were doing" was illegal, but i think it was right to take the songs down.
as i said here a week ago, i strongly hope that epitaph.com will stream the entire album some time before the release. that was very, very cool the last time around (tpob).

I know this hasn't been pointed out yet, so I'll let you all know. The fact of the matter is that while anyone could have listened to the radio station and recorded the songs for themselves, it is illegal, at least in america, to record and rebroadcast something from the radio to the public, which is basically what what was going on. I assume there are similar laws elsewhere around the world.
Besides, the album wont be out for a few more months anyways, we don't want to spoil it. I'm sure Bad Religion and Epitaph were more concerned with their fans being spoiled rather than illegally swapping the leaked songs.

I think it's great epitaph recognizes the passion of the fans, and respectfully asked that the MP3s were taken down. I'm sure it's great for them knowing that there is such a strong fan base, and much more anticipation for the "Empire's" arrival. I'm just fucking pissed that i missed them while they were around, anyone should feel free to send them to me...thanks (wink).

Well...it was fun while it lasted, and I'd rather have had these songs out for this small time rather than not have had them at all. It'll just make hearing the cd in its entirety, when it comes out, all the more sweeter!

Yeah, at least Epitaph addresed the issue in a respectful way. Im glad I downloaded the tracks, but I would have felt better if Epitaph put the songs out for download themselves. I hope they do so, and I will still buy the album.
