Here's a conversation between Jay Bentely and the fans on the Official Message Board.
Fan: whats yer favorite song on the new album?
Jay: I really like all there is and beyond electric dreams.. but i really do like all the songs on this record, i like the record a lot.
Fan: BTW, jay.. is there any song that was physically demanding for a bass player
Jay: volo, the hardest part for me was the off-time bridge is beyond electric dreams, it seems really easy when you listen to it, but i couldn't get the 3 beat for a long time....
Fan: When do you guys plan on how you're going to play the songs live?
Jay: onstage in helsinki :)
Fan: do you really care if people download the new album..is it that big of a deal to you personally?
Jay: personally, yeah it's pretty hard to watch at first, but i think you just get over it.
it's hard to put feelings on it. i guess it is that you feel like you've got this great package that you want to deliver to your friends, and like someone said, it's like watching your gift get torn open before it's time. then to watch it sort of turn into a feeding frenzy, and everyone being so excited, but not really getting the entire package, you get sort of bummed that the present was opened. you just hope everyone will feel the same when the record comes out, and not be "over it" cause they have had it for 2 months.
but the reality is, this is reality, so you cant get too upset.
i understand how people would want to have it if they could, i probably would too. so i'm happy that everyone seems to like the record...
Jay: i wouldn't ask anyone to not download it. i think that it is a great record. it seems that most people who have been here for awhile want to listen to the music early because they are so excited, like me. i must tell you guys (and you know who you are) it means more to me to read the "reviews" and opinions from you guys then someone i don't know who just posts a site and says "download the record it's awesome!"
Fan: did you write any of these new songs?...
Jay: brett says i did, but i don't remember it.. just some parts or another
Fan: Jay, upon your next group disscussion sessions with the rest of the band, could you ask the other to think about puting out a few singsles on 7"'s like you did with Dare to care records back in the early nineties?
Jay: i'll ask brett about a 7" tomorrow troy. that would be cool, i've seen the 12" artwork, it's stunning.
Fan: Jay, can you say whos doing the art and if they if you will releasing silk screened tour posters like you did with TPOB?
Jay: the art is done, by an epitaph artist named nick pritchard. and i think we may make the posters for the fall tour...
Jay: yeah we are starting a u.s. tour mid october through november

This record didn't strike me as amazing when I first heard it after downloading (I have no self control), but i've listened to it about 5 times since and I must say, it's the best one since Recipe for Hate. BR rocks. Social Suicide is amazingly catchy and has been stuck in my head for 2 days now. Live Again is like a brilliant cross between Sorrow and There Will Be A Way. Even the rapping makes sense, try skipping the rap part and the song seems sort of lacking. Well done.

Yep Jay seeams to have a rather good atitude when it comes to the whole leak issue.
I meam most of us that downloaded the album (I hope) dident do it becous we "just had the chanse" but rather becuas we wher just as exited about the album as BR is, I know at least thats wahy i downloaded it, becuas I really wanted to hear it, and becous I love Bad Religions music. And as "Nacho Vidal" sad: Fans of Bad Religion I would say are more likely to buy the album because they love the band so damn much. And I got to edmit that at first I fellt really crapy for downloading it (and pritty ashame)...but i just coudent whayt  .But now me and my BR tattoo feal a litle beter. Se all of you Sweds in Stockholm, It?s gonna be a blast !!! |

I think this right here proves not only how grounded BR are, but also how much they realize how it's their fan base that has kept them going for as long as they have been. Think about it, like this...It could have been Lars Ulrich asking all of them for thir addresses and credit card numbers...big ups to Jay. I know I for one will be buying this one...maybe a few times.

Don't worry Jay; I'm waiting until June 8th
 Yeah I agree with Nacho Vidal about how 9/10 people who've downloaded it will still go out and buy it...and still probably be as excited when they first hear it from the cd itself as they were when they first heard it after downloading it. I thought that Jay put his opinion on the whole leak issue very well though...a very sensitive, honest answer that he gave. If I were in his shoes, I think I'd feel the same. |

I wouldn't worry a whole lot about people burning the album b/c I bet nine out of ten will buy it after burning it anyway. It is such a fantastic album. Fans of Bad Religion I would say are more likely to buy the album because they love the band so damn much. The casual fans probably weren't interested in buying the thing anyway. In my opinion this CD won't be spoiled in two months. Hell i listened to the Process of belief for almost a damn year straight before it got old. I bet if I were to pop it in right now I'd get addicted all over again. BR kicks ass!!!
