In the same issue, they reviewed Lars' 'Viking' (which only got 1/2 a star) and the author began by saying the Clash were the best band ever. While I enjoy much of the Clash's early work, (and 'Empire', naturally) I'm aware that many people from that end of the punk rock block can't appreciate the simple beauty of music as fast, precise and powerful as the Flash with a laser gun (see 'The Quickening', 'Sinister Rouge', etc).
Rather than end on parentheses, let me just say, if isn't your cup of tea, why the hell would you drink it anyway and complain? (And what of the poor bloke whose tea you just drank?)
But then again, if we already enjoy our music, why does the approval of some arbitrarily appointed critic matter?

He seems to have messed up the "universally dismissed" albums. Naturally he's referring to No substance and New america, but he seems to have got that REALLY wrong! Factual mistakes really disturb me, if you're writing a review, for fuck's sake, check your facts!
I think I'll email that guy...

Not to mention, saying the 'Process of Relief was universally dismissed'... huh? Just a bad review, I guess he's jealous of Graffin's presence there

It's fine if that writer doesn't like the album, but it seems like he's got more of a problem with Graffin himself. He bitches about "Graffin's" lyrics, but all of the songs he quotes (except AthiestPeace) are Brett's. Oh, and he mentions 'The Process of Relief' TWICE.
I guess the Cornell journalism department doesn't get to studying "research" until next semester.
