i really need to listen to HCHBAW again, for the 5 trillion time, seems my brain is catching up with my age. i was actually thinking he is gonna start Part III, he had made some comment about slaves, so i was assuming that was it.

oh and for the record, its not the best idea to wear a shirt that has in big letters "bad religion" on the back when your way to the dusty parking lot is a 20 minutes walk. i stoped counting how often random drunk people behind me started singing "there will be sorrow" when i passed them...

a black 1980-2010 shirt (huge on the back, in front the crossbuster) and a black "30 years of fucking punk rock" shirt.
ithe 1980-2010 shirt doesnt have a crossbuster in front, just "bad religion" in red. there is a small crossbuster on the back, its the zero in "30 YEARS".
the crossbuster in the front is on the "30 years of fucking punk rock" shirt.

Oh, and I bought (for the first time in my life) a BR girl shirt. I'll put it on the site as soon as possible.
Other shirts that were sold were the red nuns shirt, a white "go to hell with superman" shirt, a black 1980-2010 shirt (huge on the back, in front the crossbuster) and a black "30 years of fucking punk rock" shirt. So there wasn't something specifically for Europe. But maybe we will get some other merch when the real Euro tour will start next June.

Haha, that's cool. I actually completely missed that moment; I was updating the setlist in my phone, since that was the least I could do for the site. I wanted to make some nice pics and videos, but I forgot to put back the battery in my camera after having recharged it during the night before... :S

what happened during before you die? i didnt pay attention, cause i was playing with my crappy photocam to get it set up right. did greg forget a verse or did the audience?
nobody knew graffin was going to stop! but he put his hand out to brooks, so brooks stopped and hetson saw that, but i was looking at baker and baker was shifting pedals... so where greg is supposed to sing after the break in the third verse, he paused... but the audience kept singing (and loud!), so i just went with it! we all had a good laugh after... i dont think even greg was expecting the crowd singing to be that loud.

yeah that br shirt is like mmm 12 or 13 years old, and has been places.
well my description was missleading, my bad, cause i wasnt that serious anymore during their set, first time for years that i actually sang along and was in the moving "crowd" more or less during a bad religion set, so it was definately an awesome show.
oh and technical i am greek, so lets say for the next time, i am the serious looking (most likely barely moving) southern european looking guy.

Anyway, that guy at the signing session did match your "serious looking, not moving so much German guy" description. ;)

Graffin immediately interrupted Brooks signaling him to hold/stand by. After about 10 seconds the song continued.

Yeah, although the time table only mentioned that 2 band members were going to be there (it was a couple of hours before BR had to go on stage), all 5 of them sat down for ~30 minutes for autographs and pics.
It was especially amazing to see how nice Graffin seemed to every single person in line. Not a single sign of "here we go again, let's get this over with". Jesse and I didn't stand in line (that's not for us), but rather stood on the side where Graffin approached us asking if we didn't want to come over (as in stand in line I guess). We explained we were from thebrpage and wanted to meet up with Jay to thank him in person for being active on the site; so Graffin quickly jumped over to Jay's side of the table they were sitting at to tell him some people from thebrpage wanted to meet him.
When the signing session ended, Graffin again stopped by for a chat. Talking about thebrpage, which he thought was a South American site, he said he lost interest in BR (fan) pages a long time ago. We then had a quick talk about the Bad Times and his "A Punk Manifesto" essay.
Then Jay indeed joined us for a walk from the signing place to the main stage/tent.
All in all, a great experience to meet both of them.
Plus great weather, a pretty good set and great sound for a festival tent...

signing, WTF!?!?! aaarrgggg
i had first the burning suffer boy with crossbuster on my chest t-shirt, on the back it had a small "bad religion", but when they came up i had a very old bad religion hootie shirt, with a crossbuster over my heart, and a big "bad religion" at the bottom back.
i was in the third row in front of baker when they started, after a spanish delegation decided to occupy the first two rows, but oh well, in the middle of the show everybody was shifted around anyway.

The order of the setlist is 100% correct, however the last one or maybe two songs are missing, since we were already leaving the festival ground.
@Bossae: did you go to the signing session? Were you the guy with the BR eagle shirt, the TPOB LP and the Street Dogs hat?

oh groezrock has a big merch tent...
just got back from day 1, my ears are ringing, and it was freezing cold after sunset, i wont wear a t-shirt tomorrow.
and all my photocamvideos have just one big noise as sound, i guess the first row isnt the best place to record stuff. but the view is worth it.
so if anyone is near the first row, i take my usual baker / bentley spot, i am the big guy who doesnt move much and looks serious, who finds me has the honour to bring me a beer :-P
wow, glassjaw, what a big bunch of crap... luckily face to face saved the day.

luckily the volcano knows when to shut its hole.
and nope, no new videomaterial. i have kinda retired, or lets say, my vhs material has been digitalized, so my job is done. but if i happen to stumble over some good new stuff, i will let you know.

I guess what I meant to say was there isn't much of a difference really between a regular BR set (1h to 1h15' tops) and a festival set. Though I'd say that 1 hour for a festival is pretty long. Haven't their Rock im Park and Rock am Ring sets always been mostly 40/45 minutes?
Last two times I saw them in my country they played about 60/70 minutes. I know that in 10/15 minutes minutes they can cram 5 or 6 songs so it does make a difference but...
OK, OK... what I was getting at is... It's not like we will ever see them playing 90 or 120 minutes! :sobs:

Jesse, you are right on 2006 + 2008 at Groezrock they played about 70 min but then it wasn't so many other bands on the line up so they played more time. Now i noticed that on that and the previous Groezrock they put more bands on the bill and they reduce the playing time.
