Bad Religion does a little impromptu "Broadway" in the middle of the set
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfGeEglJBOs I think there was a drum monitor problem or something. 05/15/2011 at 15:57

regarding opening for green day...i dont want my favorite band opening for a band where the lead singer wears makeup...no thanks, sucks enough having to see a shortened setlist
Greg's comment about how Rise Against, despite being superstars, hasnt forgotten about them "unlike some bands", and then Brian started playing the riff from When I Come Around, taking a shot at Green Day.
I really dont wanna believe that theyre gonna hang it up soon. I'm hoping Greg was joking.
I hope/assume that it's a joke. If they are going to hang it up soon, spending some of their limited remaining time touring as an opening band is very unfortunate and pointless. As for the Green Day comment, given that Jay said Green Day asked them to tour with them last summer -- and that the only reason BR didn't do so was they had already committed to a bunch of dates in Europe -- it doesn't really make any sense. 05/07/2011 at 15:22
I think the next logical step, and also considering Greg's comment about how Rise Against, despite being superstars, hasnt forgotten about them "unlike some bands", and then Brian started playing the riff from When I Come Around, taking a shot at Green Day.
Didn't Jay explain that Green Day did ask BR to be their opening band on their world tour last year but they had to decline because they were embarking on the 30(+1) Year Anniversary Tour. I do hope Green Day doesn't forget and asks them again.

Shouldnt RA take Sick of It All on tour next time? Seems like a no-brainer. They always bring Lou out, why dont you really show how much you appreciate SOIA's influence and take them on tour? The crowd mix will be interesting to say the least.

I actually thought last night's set was better than Thursday night. But yeah, Terminal 5 sucks dead unshaven yaks.
Every time I've seen Rise Against (5 or 6?) they've brought out Lou from SOIA. I was surprised when he didn't come out on Thursday, haha. They usually play something off of The Unraveling... It was awesome to hear Built to Last though. I still get a kick out of how happy Jay looks to be on stage and the interplay between Jay and BB...and then Greg on the far left looking so damn serious haha. 05/07/2011 at 08:39

oh yea, i forgot about the little interlude into the broadway song haha. that was funny. that's pretty cool that Lou did Built to Last. gonna see SOIA at Webster Hall in about 3 weeks with Gorilla Biscuits and Agnostic Front.
i'm fairly new to nyc. i don't get why all these big bands are playing terminal 5 so much. that dinosaur jr/off!/Fucked up show next month is there too. if bands want to play such a big venue, why don't they just hit up roseland? i saw social d there and didn't think the sound was nearly as bad as at terminal 5. oh and 1 more thing. greg was saying that this will probably be one of their last times touring. i'm guessing we can squeeze 1 more album out of them before they call it a day. 05/07/2011 at 00:47

The crowd was weak. The band played the way they always do, it's just that T5 has notoriously shitty sound. It's a very popular venue unfortunately. I wish more bands would skip this place.
Also for any oldies fans on here, when they were having some technical difficulties with the drums, they went into On Broadway by The Drifters. It was awesome. Doo-wop rules. Oh and RA hasnt gotten me excited in years, and I really didnt care for their set, but Lou from Sick of It All coming out to do Built for Last was a nice touch. Only a few other dudes knew what was up. 05/06/2011 at 22:28

good, not great show tonight. the crowd, overwhelmingly those who still looked like they were in high school, went bonkers for the first band, 4 year strong who I thought were terrible. really not into the whole pop-punk with breakdowns thing. things i heard waiting for bad religion to finish setting up:
"who's bad religion...are they bad?" "a lot of people wear those misfits shirts, who are they?" ...."I think some band from the 80s?" "fuck rise against!' the guys came out to virtually no applause. it was like nobody even noticed. they went right into day earth stalled and nobody was moving. 2nd song, some aggro guy started smashing people all over and the pit opened up. american jesus is when everybody got going. guys played great but that venue sucks. sound was muddy all night long. i loved anesthesia. saw some 200lb+ fat guy destroy some little kid in the pit. he started flexing and let out this roar like he was the king of the jungle. pathetic. during the end of the set, some guy in the pit was serving as a launchpad for little kids to crowdsurf. every now and then, you'd see these kids flying through the air haha. jay saw that too and was laughing. rest of the setlist was the same as night 2 in boston. finished with sorrow and no encore. i left after that. not a fan of rise against. 05/06/2011 at 21:29
