What I'd want to know if I weren't there.

1) BR didn't *really* know the person who the fundraiser was for, they're just mutually good friends of Adam Carolla (host/coordinator).

2) Brett did not play/participate.

3) Everyone remained in their seats, but BR still played at full energy.

4) Jay wore full Scottish garb, kilt and all.

5) Jay was definitely playing a *newer* bass, not his typical well-worn Fender.

6) Greg G wore all black and delivered his traditional lecture-style gestures despite the lack of *students* waiting to be educated.

7) Not much crowd singing/participation, yet the attendees definitely applauded and enjoyed the show.

8) Greg G requested that the band play "Los Angeles is Burning" (not to the crowd, but into the ears of the band as he does). It wasn't on the set list but was delivered perfectly.

9) Greg G was wearing in-ear monitors. He commented on them and really did sing incredibly well... may/may not have been a correlation.

10) Greg G made a few jokes (crowd laughed), Jay made a few thank yous (started and ended quiet like his comments always do... so it's always hard to know *exactly* what he says... but it was primarily about the fundraiser/cause, etc.).

11) The Dan Band played before BR (comedians in between), but BR's set was already set up, thus Brooks' cross-buster kick drum was on stage (secretly reaffirming to the few of us there, who came first and foremost for BR, that they were indeed going to be playing [there was almost no press on the show and the event's main website never mentioned BR]).

12) Brian made a joke about them not being used to having anybody in the crowd that doesn't hate their parents. Greg G made similar comments about how the crowd was so well behaved.

13) Jay had blond streaks and a fairly emo haircut, Brian had short hair and really was enjoying himself (dancing between parts as he does when he's having a good time), Greg H stayed off to his usual spot on stage left and didn't deliver his tuck-jumps very often despite playing two solos.

14) Brooks played at 100% (not that he's ever delivered anything less), but I felt like he added extra flavor to "Sorrow", and it appeared that the drum-tech behind him not only agreed (had big smile) but was rocking out to the added beats.
