Greg Greg was a band started by Greg Graffin and Greg Hetson in early 1982, but they never followed it up with anything. Davy Goldman was the drummer; he also played drums on Bad Religion's Into The Unknown album.
The intention of Greg Greg was to play songs along the lines of Into The Unknown. The band Bad Religion would play the older stuff and some new songs.[1]
Greg Graffin: "Well, we are gonna keep playing and keep playing what we like to play. Ideas are always changing in my head. I write a song when I feel one way and that's for Greg Greg, other times I feel differently and I write that for Bad Religion. "Into The Unknown" was kind of a mixing of all of my idea and putting it on the record. Brett would feel the same way he wrote a few of the songs."[2]
In 1989 Greg Graffin said: "We just put it off for a while. Greg quit so now it's just Greg. But I use electronic doubling to it's still Greg Greg".[3]
In June 1982 three more songs were recorded at Track Records and engineered by Jim Mankey. They were never released and even Hetson can't find his copy of the songs, so they're officially lost.
