The song was thought to be released as a digital single on May 22nd, 2007 but the date had been pushed back to June 12th. It was initially played on KROQ in late April of 2007. ^[1]

Song meaning

The song was inspired by Perry Smith, the murderer profiled in Truman Capote’s 1966 novel “In Cold Blood”. Brett Gurewitz says the song talks about how someone so gentle seeming can commit a brutal, murderous act.

Video

The video was directed by Lex Halaby. It was released by Epitaph on July 10, 2007. ^[2]
