Song meaning

This is a song about relationships. If two people are lovers or business partners, there is always an element of reciprocity inherent in the relationship, whether it's stated or not. We are thought to feel shameful for such acknowlegements. You can't have a succesful relationship if you only give. You have got to be able to take and not feel worthless.
