COVID-19, a respitory coronavirus, started spreading in Wuhan, China in late 2019. The virus became a global pandemic in Spring of 2020.
Bad Religion was forced to cancel their 2020 United States Spring tour (co-headlining with Alkaline Trio) due to COVID-19 concerns.
On April 29, 2020, Bad Religion was forced to cancel their entire 2020 tour schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The BR Page was offered Do What You Want (book) 100 promotional flexidiscs by band management (which were to be given away with merch purchases on the Spring tour) to get to fans. Page staff accepted and made the flexidiscs available to all Bad Religion fans for a simple $5 minimum donation to the World Health Organization's COVID-19 Solidarity Fund. The initial 100 flexis were gone in an hour, band management offered 300 more, which the page accepted. The BR Page raised $5,000 during the project.
Following the flexis, The BR Page was offered another fundraising project from band management, this time consisting of 800 official Bad Religion 40th Anniversary lapel pins (these were to be sold at the Sping tour). Page staff accepted and commenced a similar approach - pins were made available to all Bad Religion fans for a simple $10 donation to the WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Fund. Shipping reps were assigned across the globe, in hopes to minimize shipping costs for BR fans around the world.
