Some years ago in our forums, there was a meeting of the minds and creativity was thriving; song parodies were hot!
Do you remember the classic "Recipe for Cake"? Or how about "True Nerds" and "My Thread is Full of Posts". Let's also not forget "The Milkshake" and the timeless classic "Apple III"!
So let's do it again, but this time we're turning it into an actual contest!
How does it work?
It's simple: take the lyrics of a Bad Religion song, replace them with something else that fits, submit them on this page and you're done. Deadline is Sunday October 11.
Have a look at the parodies from the past to make sure your idea for parody lyrics has not already been done before. We allow only one entry per person.
What are the prizes?
The Bad Religion Page regular Nathan (a.k.a. Gravel) has volunteered to cover the costs for the prizes. Thanks Nathan!
- 1st place: A BR shirt and a vinyl record of your choice and the song with YOUR lyrics performed live by Emily Davis on Bad Religion Day 2020 (November 7th)!
- 2nd place: A BR shirt and a vinyl record of your choice
- 3rd place: A BR shirt or a vinyl record of your choice
The winners will be contacted and asked about their shirt & size and vinyl record preferences, as well as their shipping address details.
How are the winners selected?
We'll have the BR fan community in our Facebook Group vote for the winning lyrics that are funny, smart, original, witty, actual, etc. (we actually have no idea!).
Winners will be announced on Saturday October 17th.
