It's all right to have faith in god,
But when you bend to their rules and their fucking lies
That's when I start to have pity on you.
You're living on a mound of dirt,
But you can't explain your reason for existence
So you blame it on god.
So much hatred in this world and you can't decide
Who's pulling the strings
So you figure it's god.
Your whole life foreshadows death
And you finally realize you don't want to die alone
So you'll always have god.
It's all right to have faith in god,
But when you bend to their rules and their fucking lies
That's when I start to have pity on you.
It's all right to have faith in god,
But when you bend to their rules and their fucking lies
That's when I start to have pity on you.
There's people in the world today
Who say they're Jewish, Christian and such,
They're all ignorant fools.
They'll tell you you can't have your own way
unless you pay money and dedicate your life
Or you'll be damned in hell.
Don't be feeble like all of them,
You have your own brain full of thoughts and choices,
So use it don't let them use you.

This song has a pretty simple meaning. "It's all right to have faith in god,
But when you bend to their rules and their fucking lies
That's when I start to have pity on you." This is saying he doesn't hate people who have faith in God, he just hates the church and their dogmatic opinions. "You're living on a mound of dirt,
But you can't explain your reason for existence
So you blame it on god." You blame God for all your problems. "So much hatred in this world and you can't decide
Who's pulling the strings
So you figure it's god." You blame God for the world's problems. "Your whole life foreshadows death
And you finally realize you don't want to die alone
So you'll always have god." After bashing God for His mistakes, you decide you need him when you want him. "There's people in the world today
Who say they're Jewish, Christian and such,
They're all ignorant fools.
They'll tell you you can't have your own way
unless you pay money and dedicate your life
Or you'll be damned in hell." Religions try and guilt trip you into giving them money and people go along with it. "Don't be feeble like all of them,
You have your own brain full of thoughts and choices,
So use it don't let them use you." You don't necessarily need to listen to all of them, but at the same time you don't necessarily need to listen to Greg either because then you're not using your own brain, you're using his.

This song needs no interpretation..
I thought a lot about that stuff the last time than I saw that song. Great, is just my thought!! Have YOUR faith in god and dont claim to any stupid Jewish, Muslemic or Christian made-up god. DO NOT claime to any church rules.. Claim to "god" if u need a substance in life for we all havent got "the answer" and will never have. Make out your answer and claim to what you think is right - dont be fooled by church. Its a fake! -Felix 07/03/2006 at 20:18

A strike back at the assumptions of theists that atheists are just immoral little punks who their god will be roasting in the fires of perdition for not accepting their "enlightened" views. This song shows that atheism is religiously nuetral (religious people tend to view atheists as not only ignorant, but satanic) and non-combative. As an atheist I don't look down on anyone around me who believes in God, but I will get pissed when they feel they have the right to tell me my beliefs are wrong and attempt to convert me. Religious people are capable of excercising individuality and free thought even while being a part of their religious institiution, but when they "bend to their rules and their fucking lies" then all I can say is that I pity them too.
