Like a morning crow and his unwelcome song
Or a worn-out broken record that keeps skipping along,
Mountains of instructions you keep piling on me
Resound like a cacophonous symphony.
But I don't wanna hear it anymore,
No, I don't wanna hear it anymore.
Let's go!
Priests and politicians pretend they're your friend
And police speak to you like you're a child again.
Blanket statements cover you like a rug
And they tell me maybe I'm acting a little too smug.
But I don't wanna hear it anymore,
No, I don't wanna hear it anymore.
No more!
Every day we hear the secrets of life
Reduced to cheap jokes, poetry and friendly advice.
They'd rather see us all pusillanimous,
Absorbent in their chorus of correctness.
But I don't wanna hear it anymore,
No, I don't wanna hear it anymore,
I said, I don't wanna hear it anymore,
No, I don't wanna hear it anymore!

Woohoo! It's my first post on this site!
So anyway. This song is a great way to start the album. Very hyper.
My take on it is that it's a bitch about political correctness. Here in Britain you can't go 5 minutes without someone saying, "You can't say that in front of X...", or "you might offend X if you do that" etc. We're drowning in social rules of what might be offensive to ethnic groups, women, men, babies, dogs, cats... you name it. Stupidity. It's gotten to the stage where it's down right hysteria about being scared, (or pusillanimous) to offend someone if we don't all follow these silly rules that 'the-powers-that-be' have come up with! Well maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration; but you get the idea. By doing this, we're just encouraging stereotypes in my opinion, hence the 'blanket statements'. Rock!

I think what Greg tries to say is what a true punk should say and do: do not listen anyone who told you how to live and think. The hipocresy of authorities should not be follow and be anything but yourself

A good explanation for 'Best For You' would fit this song well. Mr. Graffin is obviously and rightly fed up with being told how to live his life from police, priests, politicians, and so on and so forth... Hey, i just thought, I wonder if they guys from the band ever actually visit this site?
