Wasted children, fixed blank eyes, blood and sweat, we socialize
Broken home from which they come, beer-stained dad, compliant Mom.
Fear and love, much despised, replaced by comfortable lies.
Teenage classic, more cliche, one step further on the edge of decay.
White trash, 2nd generation, white trash, 2nd generation,
White trash, 2nd generation, don your crown and cleanse the nation.
Are you ready to fight for your morality? Right wing allies, white supremacy.
Pretty fascist on the tube draped in red and white and blue.
White trash, 2nd generation, stupid foibles, indignation,
Offspring of suburban fright, pearl-white creatures of the night
White trash, 2nd generation, white trash, 2nd generation,
White trash, 2nd generation, don your crown and cleanse the nation.
Stiff blue collar, coat and tie, brand new breeds side by side.
Christian ethic, right extremes, shoved down our throat as the American Dream.
White trash, 2nd generation, stupid foibles, indignation,
Offspring of suburban fright, pearl-white creatures of the night
White trash, 2nd generation, white trash, 2nd generation,
White trash, 2nd generation, don your crown and cleanse the nation.
White trash, 2nd generation, white trash, 2nd generation,
White trash, 2nd generation, don your crown and cleanse the nation.

"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently."-Friedrich Nietzsche. This quote makes me think of this song- people growing up to be taught to be compliant and to buy into the bullshit lies authority tells them is good so they all think the same and no one thinks for themselves. Then they are just suppose to fight to change the nation by making everyone compliant.

This song, in my opinion, is about how even though we are told that the world is "desegregated" and diverse among cultures, colours, and beliefs, we sure as hell aren't. How, even in American, the "Land of Oppurtunity" and "Land of the Free", racism, hate, and cruel judgement still exists, moreso even.
It reminds me of a quote from the movie Ghost World: "racism is still around today, people are just finding better ways of covering it up". That quote, which is referring to discrimination in jobs and schools, describes this song quite well, I think. If you have heard of the 'band" Prussian Blue, you might also see this song calling down on people like Lamb and Lynx Gaede. It's not particularly about the South, either. It's about modern racism everywhere. People who fear or hate other people because of the colour of their skin. Basically, this song is about modern white supremacy and racism, and how we as a country think the Dark Ages of America are over. 10/31/2005 at 00:50

i think this is a representation of how the habbits and hinderments of a parental generation can lead to the degenerative traits of their progeny, of how poverty and racism can actuall affect the outcome of an individual or of am entire generation "beer stained dad compliant mom" this to me touches on the subject of how young men can learn abuse from his father and can become accustomed to it and in time become a habbit of his own ( like i was saying earlier) or how being uneasy or timid especially in females can come from the way they are raised. " are you ready to fight for morality right wing allies white supremacy pretty facist on the tube draped in red and white and blue" this to me is about the fact that americans can be just as much of a facist country as germany, and how we are just as easily drawn into the propogandist bullshit that can create facism and propetuate it so as to widely create the idea that war is wagable against a race or ethnic group bucause of a small discrepency in beleif translation or communication
