Synopsis: | While not their strongest release, Bad Religion show that they've still got it over 30 years on. |
True North
With a Bad Religion album, you pretty much know what you're going to get: A fast paced, in your face (yet melodic) Punk Rock album. In that retrospect, Bad Religion do not disappoint whatsoever, coming up with an album which fits nicely alongside the rest of their discography. While it probably won't win over any new fans, longtime fans can enjoy this album as much as the rest of their discography.
The best thing about this album is the enjoyment factor; it's an extremely enjoyable album, while not as enjoyable as some of the bands earlier albums (such as 'Suffer', 'No Control', 'and 'Against The Grain'), it's almost as good as those albums, and is by no means the weakest album that Bad Religion have ever done.
In typical Bad Religion fashion, this album has a fairly short run time, clocking in at around 36 minutes. The band pack a lot of energy into the songs on this album, particular stand outs being the title track, 'Robin Hood In Reverse', 'Land Of Endless Greed', '*** You', and 'Popular Consensus'.
Overall, Bad Religion have produced 16 more solid songs to add to their discography and play during live shows. Not their strongest release, but by no means their weakest. After more than 30 years, Graffin et all still have it, and this album is a strong indication of that fact.
