universal cynic and fletcher: no offense, but you guys are crazy! I thought this performance was very touching, and I'd gladly buy an entire album full of Bad Religion songs folkified by Greg (those appropriate for doing so, of course; "Sorrow" fits the bill perfectly, but obviously you couldn't shoehorn "A Positive Aspect Of Negative Thinking" into the style). How about "Man With A Mission", "Los Angeles Is Burning", "Pity", etc.?

fletcher, you're not alone; i find the solo stuff to be a bit dull. it's ok, but i wouldn't choose to listen to a full album of it.

i have no idea why he played sorrow on that show, by the way, he wasnt even live there, it was recorded days before the show. (they did not say exactly when, so it might be even weeks, perhaps when he was for his solo tour here)
and after the show the moderator recommended the live dvd cause it has sorrow on it and did not even mention the upcoming solo album. i thought the days of greg doing bad religion "projects" without the band are over...

Am I the only one who's not totally enthusiastic about Greg's solo stuff? I mean I'm a huge BR fan since I bought No Control way back in 1989, have seen the band countless times and still love most of their albums (with the exception of the horrible No Substance and the only slightly better New America), but to be honest, I think Greg's solo work is pretty boring. At least that's what I thought when watching his performance on German tv. Sorrow is a classic song, but performed solely by Greg loses most of its magic for me. Dunno, not to be a jerk or something, but I enjoy the BR songs a lot more.

Ya gotta feed your drug addiction somehow, right Brett? Okay, cheap shot, but he seems like a dick in general. At the same time, the Offspring didn't have to go all crap-tastic when they switched labels either. The way I see it, Offpsring is mostly teenage angst music. Ol' Dexter isn't a teen and he's got nothing to be angry about. If my life was surfing and playing the KROQ wienie roast once a year I'd be pretty damn content.
