two things:
1) i think this is a great video. very impressive. makes you wonder why br continually blows opportunities to make their emotionally potent songs into average visual works. 2)..."its typical brett to exclude it solely for the production value."...
1.) usually because we are in it.
2.) brett wrote that song and excluded it because it wasn't finished...

1) i think this is a great video. very impressive. makes you wonder why br continually blows opportunities to make their emotionally potent songs into average visual works. 2) i understand that this was a pob outtake. it definitely has that pob sound of the songs towards the end of the album starting w/ the lie, bored and extremely dangerous. my point is, i think this song is waaaaaay better than "...missy was a teen blue video star" or whatever. it's very similar to that song, but has much better lyrics and greg's voice definitely hits a deeper emotional tone. its cool to have as an outtake but its typical brett to exclude it solely for the production value. i like the production of this. its the first time i've heard it and it would've been an asset to pob, but in place of "the lie" probably.

So, any link to a video download?
I'm gonna rip it off Youtube, but I'm hoping that there's gonna be a better quality one somewhere.

I went to the journalism film festival tonight at my college (U of O) and this video was shown and I thought it was so awesome! Coming from another amateur filmmaker, I was very impressed. It didn't win Best Music Video award though, there was a funny, rediculous rap video that won. Then for me to come onto the BR Page and this is posted as news, it's tripping me out! Rock on!

Jay did not state that Shattered Faith was recorded only by Greg. It was a group effort, but Jay was reluctant in doing so.

Yeah, now that I think of it, I somehow confused it with Out of Hand. But I remember hearing something particular about Shattered Faith in relation to how they recorded or mixed it. I'll try to check in my BR Archives and get back to you all.

![]() I do like Shattered Faith, but it gets old quickly, and it does sound a bit too much like Kid's Arn't Alright. However, you can't deny that the bit where Greg goes "Now there's doubt... ...And gravity..." And then it kicks right back in again is amazing! |

Yeah, you're talking about The Offspring's The Kids (Aren't Alright). You're right, I think it was Jay who admitted that on the recent BR Podcast and added that Graffin had recorded that song on his own.

Shattered Faith sounds too much like an Offspring song(I forget which one). And Jay has stated he didn't even want to record that song, let alone be apart of it.
News From The Front on the other hand, is awesome! And Who we are is Awesome too... but there are reasons why b-sides and "unreleased" songs exist... also there are reasons why certain songs don't make albums...it's all relative if you ask me... just as long as I get t hear them.

Shattered Faith is indeed one hell of a song but still Who We Are > Shattered Faith... After all, Brett > Greg.

I gotta say, hell of a job on the video. Great production work, I see no reason why bad religion wouldn't want to use this video as their own. Once again, great work and i'm sure you'll succeed in your film career. This is a nice addition to your portfolio as well, with nothing but great reviews haha.

Yeah, anyway you can still see Greg's mouth there lol
However, I don't think it's a rule that bands have to be in their videos for them to qualify as good videos.

I like it a lot! Props to this guy! At the beginning, it kinda reminded me of Struck a Nerve in the sense that it follows some of the images described in the verses line by line (a cigarette, a memory). It shows the guy is a fan of Bad Religion. I liked the references to The Gray Race (one of the faces of the album cover mixed in one of those subliminal "curtains" borrowed from the LA Is Burning vieo) and (the European version of) The New America (the way he is standing with the gun pressed to his chest).
