haha look what Greg said in a recent interview too:
"I think for a piece of art to be shared is a great thing, if it?s a good piece of art. But to claim it as your own is of low character. I don?t like people who steal things and claim to have done something new or unique or in any way noble or honourable. At the same time, sharing art is a great thing. I guess I distinguish the sharing of it as a kid would do when he downloads something on the internet, than an artist who steals a riff or a part of a song from another artist and claims it as his own. I think that?s much more of an error, and much more evidence of a low character."
Exactly what these people are doing. As for my thoughts on it, way to ruin a good song.

hm i read the guestbook on their homepage.
someone asked them why they covered 21th century digital boy and groove coverage awnsered : " We?re about 30 years old now, listening to music for 20 years (more years then the most of you are,who dont like the cover). bad religion was a part of our youth und we like the track very much,it influenced us to show the track, danceable, to the new generation!"
I don?t believe that,i dont like dance-music,but others do.and we have to accept that. but these horrible lyrics and stolen guitar riff. it isn?t even a techno song, its a bad cover to earn alot of money through doing nothing .
if they would use the original lyrics and just create a techno song for the people who like dancemusic, without selling for alot of money.than i would accept it,that would be a good way for dancepeople to learn from the messages from bad religion...

sooooo..... a 21st Century Digital Girl is a wanna be prep/emo whore who watches too much Coyote Ugly and can barley write a cohesive sentence ("I don't know how to love, but I live in this world" <--- WTF?) that goes beyond any semblance of artistic expression and has retards going "whaa?".
Fuck this band, thanks a lot Sony, your lucky Hideo Kojima still makes metal gear games or I'd take your Ps3 and shove it up your cash-whore hole while slamming the back of your head with a baseball bat.

This is sad. I've read in some forums and stuff about the song and nowhere is the name Bad Religion even mentioned. The only thing I've seen that connects it with BR is a moron who said "It's better than the original". All the stupid kids seem to love the song, but no one will even know where it comes from... This is more than my Bad Religion-heart can take.

What?! Some other "fagget" band has done a BR song?! How do those fuckin' faggets have the nerve to insult me by doing a version of a song that I like by a different band! My ears and eyes and dick is bleeding from this! Fuckin' homo pansies are insulting everything that Bad Religion is about: being loud, manly, intolerant, unopen to anything different, homophobic, and bitching out kids who play in bands that look like pussies in comparison to our testorone-drenched tunes... yeah, I bet Graffin himself used to go around high school making fun of kids who listen to pansy fagget music!! Haha, those faggets!

Yes, Epitaph's name comes from that King Crimson song "Epitaph". Brett explains that in the documentary on Punk-o-rama DVD.
I think when BR used those King Crimson lyrics, it was more of a tribute. When Groove Covarage now used both lyrics and melody, they made it for just to make easy money. And there's the difference.

king crimson are awesome. they have a song called "epitaph" on the same album as schizoid man, oddly enough. but as regards this groove coverage thing, everyone should treat as a bit of a joke.... i mean, it's not like it's gonna prevent BR from making more albums or anything so i don't see why everybody's getting so worked up.

And what's the story behind the last part of the song...the Cat's Foot iron claw part?

Now I understand how christian conservatives must have felt when they saw the scene in "The Exorcist" with the girl fucking the cross. Sadly, I'm surprised this hasn't been done before. In this dearth of originality we seem to be living in (i.e. 50% of new movies are remakes) it's no wonder things like this happen. By the way comparing Bad Religion paying homage to an amazing band by using a few of their lyrics in the outro to this travesty is like comparing a firecracker to a hydrogen bomb. If you'll excuse me, I'm off to shoot a remake of "Citizen Kane", except I'm going turn it into a Black guy/White guy buddy picture.

Man, some of you guys take this way too seriously. As pointed out earlier, it's not like Bad Religion exactly came up with lyrics like "cat's foot, iron claw, nueral surgeon screams for more".

Epitaph will own the rights to the ATG version, Sony will own the rights to the STF version. Simple as that. The copyright in the lyrics is held by Brett but since they changed the lyrics sufficiently then copyright laws doesn't apply!
Brett/BR can do fuck all about this and they will make no money whatsoever from this.
Again, that's the music biz for you.

1. When their old single "Poison" was released, Alice Cooper's version was played loads of times on TV and on the radio, as everybody was curious to hear the original. If the song is succesful, then we're gonna get to hear Bad Religion a hell of a lot more over here in the UK.
2. We really can't get too angry over this, seeing as the BR version 'borrowed' various elements from the King Crimson song "21st Century Scitzo Boy" or whatever it was called.

Can someone explain me why Sony has the right on the song? Because the song was on Epitaph (against the grain) and Atlantic (STF) no? If not, then I don't understand...
