'yall got the intro (EF#GABDCCDE-riff) down.
--------------------DBATR---------------
(Em) Down in the (C) holler there's a (Dadd9) thriving (Em) town
A (Em) treasure (G) trove that makes the (Dadd9) world go (Em) 'round,
When the (Em) city barons (C) bring their legal (Dadd9) papers and (Em) guns,
Oh (G)darlin', (C)don't be (Dadd9) afraid to (Em) run
When we came... (/:)
(G)Darlin' (C) don't be (Dadd9)afraid to (Em) run,
And (G)don't turn your (C) back on the (Dadd9) noonday (Em)sun,
Some(Em)day re(G)demption will (Dadd9)wash every(Em)one,
But there's (G)no telling (C)when that (Dadd9) day will (Em)come
So (G) darlin' (C)don't be a(Dadd9)fraid...
... to (EF#GABDCCDE-riff) run

I usually change the key to fit my range..
-----------------------------
Oh, (G) yonder stands the prophet, words are (Em) music to our ears,
But (G) down among the sinners, only (C) pain and (G) sweat and (Dsus2) tears
The (Em) sermon soothes the (C) simple but the (G) rest are rapt with (Dsus2)fear,,,
(Em)Oh (C)no, too (G) late to hold a (Dsus2) trial, (Em) time doesn't (Fmaj)wait for the (G)watchmaker's (Am)dial
------------------------------
this is prolly wrong, but people clap after i play it.

The intro in Don't Be Afraid To run starts with Em, with that F# right before the G chord. Then theres that little 'lick' where he hits the open A string, hammers on the B, then hits the open D string. From there, its a C chord. The D chord is played very quickly after that into a Em chord. In between that last Em chord and the repeat of the riff, release the chord shape and play the E, A, and D strings open quickly before the riff starts again.
Its difficult to describe, but thats how I play the opening and it sounds perfectly.
I am still debating during the verse and chorus whether he uses a G or C chord. Sometimes one works and sometimes the other works better. I just use which one sounds best at the time...

Omie Wise is tuned to e flat i believe, and the chords for the verse are
A G A E
and the chorus is
E 0
B 10 10 12 10 8 10 12 8 5 3 3
G 4 2 4
something like that anyway.

Here is a simple version of the watchmakers dial:
G D C G
G D C D
Em C G D
Em C G D
Em C G D G
solo=everything above except last line..after solo repeat the Em parts a couple of times. Sorry I was so arrogant. In the future I will use my talent for good.

Any good guitarist can hear the chords. You're not good if you need tabs.
Cold as the clay sounds like
D G D X?
D G A Bm A G D
chorus:
D G A D Bm A G Em D
something like that....but use a capo

What I'm waiting for is a piano-to-guitar tab for Watchmakers Dial... or even just a piano tab, so I could try and figure it out myself.
