Well Kris, as a matter of fact there are some mp3's of the old albums on epitaph.com
Anyway, fuck only pictures of the band in studio. The Webmonkey also promised us some video clips! I hate to say this but Bad Religion should learn from Metallica in terms of maintaining their official website with updates and stuff from their work in studio. Their official site is the dream of any die-hard fan of any band. Yeah, I know that Metallica is almost an entreprise at this stage but oh well...

About mp3's: If you don't hear the difference in quality between How could hell be any worse and Process of belief as mp3, then there is something wrong with your ears. Mp3's don't degrade very much, and even the degrading they do, you will still hear a considerable difference, especially in the early albums.
We could put mp3's here if we want, but since it's illegal, we don't. check www.bad-religion.net for rare mp3's

Will's proposition gave me an idea:
If Epitaph DOESN'T release sound clips of both the new and old versions of the albums, I will give Kristoffer, the webmaster, mp3s of the old versions to put on this page, so that we're all able to make the decision for ourselves.

I disagree about what a previous poster said. If you use a really good MP3 program [WinLAME, which is freely available although unfortunately illegal due to MP3 patents] you can get practically indistinguishable to CD MP3 files at 192 kbps. However I hope this doesn't become a debate about MP3. But I hope Epitaph releases a two short uncompressed sound clips from the same song, old and new versions, so we can hear for ourselves before we repurchase the albums. Does anyone know if these CDs are going to be HDCDs like some NOFX Epitaph releases [well I only know that my copy of So Long...was an HDCD]. That would make this release a lot more desireable.

Anyway, there's no point in uploading mp3's of their re-issues because we won't really be able to tell the difference as far as quality is concerned (and thus appreciate the new remastering and mixing touches) considering that the mp3 is a compressing format that degrades sound quality... This having been said by Greg Graffin himself...
So to me all this sounds like a some padding to kill time...
Webmonkey! Go upload at least one mp3 of the new album! And what about a video of the band in studio? He had also promised us some video clips, not only lousy photos!
Am I complaining too much?

Well, I'm glad that my e-mail to the Webmonkey at Epitaph last Friday proved to wake him up

![]() Pang of remorse in the corner of your mind? Hey Matt! How are you doing? That's right. Don't you feel a pang of remorse somewhere in the corner of your mind? You promised us die-hard fans of Bad Religion that you would be posting pics and video clips of the band's work in studio... It's been almost a month since that announcement on the Epitaph occassional newsletter... Not that I learned about it there because I hardly ever receive your newsletter no matter how many times I've signed up in the last months... Anyways, I understand you must be very busy with other things and stuff but please give us something to get hold of until we are "struck" by the new album on June the 8th! Best wishes, Dogbert P.S.: Say hi to Mr. Brett and give him my props for the Error E.P. |
