joe, that's not even a conversation. 3 of the same members but zach de la rocha wrote those lyrics. Audioslave doesn't sing about anything that is relevant to Rage. But this is a BR messageboard anyway.

Rage was more than what? Perhaps you should explain it to me. Given the fact that always sport some sort of commie propaganda, openly agree with tyrants such as fidel castro (audioslave played a concert in Havana, Cuba last year) even though the cuban regime oppresses all types of freedom of spech INCLUDING music. There are hundreds of cuban musicians serving time in jail because they tried to voice their opinions through music, yet they did not mention any of this at their concert. Yes, I know audioslave isn't rage, but when three out of four members are in the band, that's pretty much rage to me.

If I was american, I wouldn't like che guevara that much. And I really hate all the t shirts and crap you can buy in tourist shops in spain and portugal. He is like the anti-american hero. And maybe Joe has a point, saying you guys should do some research about che.oh and I saw a dvd of rage against the machine. I was really annoyed. It was with subtitles in english because you could't hear what the singer was actually singing. Does that guy have a speech dissorder? And they ruined playing guitar in drop D for me, because everytime I play something in drop D, People say: "play rage against the machine!"

Well your statement is wrong because Rage was more than that. Speaking of giving people homework assignments, you should do yourself the favor and look further into Rage Against The Machine than what MTV showed you Joey.

First of all, rage against the machine were nothing but a bunch of che guevara loving commies. For those of you that do not know the real deal behind che guevara, please do yourself a favor and do some damn research. So, that b/s reunion, i'm definetly not looking forward to it, i hope it blows. Moving on, no matter what anyone may say about the state of epitaph records, brett has brought us some of the greatest artists of our time, most of the bands i grew up listening to are in fact epitaph bands. The label has taken a new direction, perhaps keeping up with the times, but that's just what they have to do in order to survive and continue to release albums. In summary, rage against the machine...COMMIES!..epitaph..good..

They haven't signed anyone particularly good in a while, but there are still some good bands signed to it, e.g Bad Religion.

I?ve been listening Epitaph stuff for more than ten years and still am. Epitaph is for me one of the world best labels and their albums through decades are classic.
Wish them 25 years more and hope they keep the spirit of punk rock alive.

I've been enjoying the recent flux in news. Hopefully it stays this way up until the release of the album. Unfortunately, my chances of getting into the Cleveland Rock Hall event doesn't seem very likely at all.

Hey Matt, doesn't a part of you wish though that Soundgarden was the least of your problems today? I remember shuddering 7 years ago when all these kids were like, "Blink 182 is the greatest punk band...!" And then like 4 years later it was Good Charlotte and now its Panic at the disco or MCR. I really long for the days when Korn was the band I'd complain about. lol.

Guys, Matt doesn't like Soundgarden. Who cares? This is a BR page. To each their own. I happened to love soundgarden growing up and now, a bit older, i still think their good. But its just my opinion. We can't prove who sucks/doesn't suck as fact/non-fact.

I think it's good that Epitaph expanded. I'm not a fan of everything they and Anti- put out, but it's helped me discover different kinds of music.

Matt, you just said "I like all types of music" and "I still hate most music that was popular as I grew up" in the same sentence.

No I'm not 12, i m25, i hated them 12 years ago, and I still hate them. I don't care what any of you say. That was the kind of music I was trying to avoid when I started listening to Bad Religion and other punk bands, and I thank god i don't listen to that garbage. I like all kinds of music now, and I still hate most music that was popular as I grew up.

ughh, I happened to venture onto epitaph.com today and was a little dissapointed at what I found. "The Higher" from Las Vegas is a newly signed band whos singer sounds like he just exited the womb. Over produced slow pop punk guitar left a chilling feeling in me as I wondered why this label now seems to shun decent punk rock bands and now signs on what the major labels are also offering.

I can see that Danny, but still in the end it doesn't affect what I listen to. Soundgarden isn't the worst band in the world or anything, but that was the kind of music that I used to complain about back in the day, the whole generic grunge rock thing that has morphed into the likes of Nickelback. Just like alot of people now complain about emo, that was the music i hated.

The thing about emo or screamo is that it is confused with punk rock. That's why we hate it so much Matt. I realize that emo wouldn't have existed if punk rock hadn't first, but they're not relevant to one another otherwise. When Britney Spears is on the radio, at least people don't think you might like it. With MCR or Panic! people think its punk rock and by extension connected with you. And Soundgarden didn't suck. I realize they weren't among the greatest, but sucked?

Q: What's the difference between an Emo kid and a dead baby?
A: The baby doesn't cry.
Emo kids are fun to laugh at. It's only appropriate their music sucks as much as they do. I'd hate for a 15 year old who wears pants tighter than his sister's to have his life soundtrack be anything good. And if Mr. Brett wants to take their money, I'm all for it. If you want good music look around, it's out there. Just not from Epitaph as much.

Jau, who cares if emo sells or not? The radio has always sucked, whether it was Soundgarden, Britney Spears, or MCR. It's a fact of life, and I just ignore it and don't let it bother me. Let the kids listen to their crap.

slightly informative interview; and sadly confirms a dark and annoying truth: emo sells now, no matter how much it sucks or people hate it, it somehow continues to sell.
