"God doesn't need rest"
as greg g will agree with me on this, there isn't any sensible scientific proof of god's existence, so to debate over God resting is a moot point because God doesn't exist... but anyway... I'm a little bummed that there are only 15 song here and not 17... I hope eventually BR releases a compilation of a bunch of songs that were rejected from the albums... it could be like NOFX's "45 or 46 songs that weren't good enough to go on our other records"...

it got to be true, cause the internets say so. and we all know how reliable the internets and personal opionions of people who arent involved with the band in any way are. remember how brett said on the LIVE AT THE PALLADIUM DVD said, the next album is gonna be a double album, and some idiots thought it was meant as a joke. cant wait for "new maps of hell" so they see how stupid they were not believing the people on the internets who claimed the next album HAS to be a double album. and also i want to announce, I am the REAL father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby.

I bet that the 27 songs are broken down like this...10 got rejected,15 get on the album and 2 of them will be B-sides.

I think the Stones never did a farewell tour - they always said they were gonna carry on further.
Anyway, Brett having writers' block? It's a natural thing that you need time for reflection before you can pack your feelings, thoughts and emotions into a compact song. I wouldn't call that writer's block, it's just part of the writing process.

"Like Gods resting, br will finally retire. Hooray!"
1) God doesn't need rest
2) BR retiring a good thing?
I think after listening to this next CD, we'll get a better idea of whether or not BR will keep on releasing CDs. Heroes and Martyrs sounds very different...which IMO indicates that they have a lot of juice still left in them. This talk of having more layered tracks, it seems like they feel like they can explore and try more things.

How can anyone deduce from this that this may be their last album? Sounds like Brett may have hit writers block - i hope not. Rock music could really do with a good BR album - quality rock music is dying.

People, do you have any idea how many "Farewell" tours the Rolling Stones have done? I'll believe it when I see it.

either this album will be such a success that they decide to do another one, or it'll be such a success that they'll decide to end on a high

You know, seeing Graffin last summer, and the whole band (sans Brett) in the fall...I have never seen the guys look as happy and as relaxed on stage as they were, they genuinely looked like they were enjoying themselves. It would seem hard to imagine from that that they are done. I hope not...

You know, FGG, we get that you hate Bad Religion/can't stand their lyrics/blah blah. It must be really fun to troll a fan site since you don't have anything better to do.

NO!!!
I want more!
I know I'm being greedy but one of the high points in my life is getting a new BR album.
I really, really look forward to them.
Even if they just took a break and released a new album every five years or even ten it would be good.

i don't have a problem if its gonna be in the vein of HCHBA worse in fact that'd be awesome, be a great end if it is the last album, im doubting whether it will be the last album but if it is hopefully they'll be going out with a bang, way i'd want it to be anyway.

Henchman, it would be really great if you can translate it (and also scan the original article?). And better send it to news.

17, I'm sure. Keep in mind, they still didn't have a title when that article was written. Things change. With the tracklisting on the epitaph website, I don't think they would scrap a couple.
Unless, New Dark Ages is an intro, and 52 seconds is really 52 seconds and not long enough to consider real songs? We'll just wait and see.

Today here in Brazil one of the most importants newspapers put an incredible article with Bad Relion. Greg Graffin was interviewed in Argentina by telephone....I have to work write now but I am going to translate the high lights after and put here or send to news..
Graffin said that the fans are all going to see that the draw of the new album is very similiar to "How Could Hell.., the first album in 1982, and somehow, it?s and end of a cycle"
So, Bad Religion will stop after New Maps of Hell??? I am worried right now
:( :(
Today they are playing Curitiba, tomorrow Sao Paulo and Sunday Rio de Janeiro. I will give you the Rio set list on sunday after the show...
