As you can see, they've switched around the songs quite a bit. And, instead of the original 17 songs, there are only 16 now, as New Chapter has been dropped (maybe it'll resurface a a B-side?). Further, Requiem is now called Requiem for Dissent. This change might indicate the completion of the album.

After a little research:
Men (supposedly) think about sex every 52 seconds. Firefighters reached the crashed Air France ahile ago in, 52 seconds. The Indian national anthem should tak exactly 52 seconds (:O) Only 2 BR songs are shorter, I Want Something More and Stealth. that's it. so, to summarize, I have no clue what the song could be about, but it's most likely a cover of the Indian anthem. |

Is that a joke? There is a theory that it is cut off to make the listener question, having to do with the nature of the song. I tend to believe that since more lyrics are printed it was an error in mastering.

One other explanation (though crazy unlikely, i know) is that New Chapter is an introduction (like Overture) that they decided to include as one track (with any song, who knows) instead of seperately. On tour they would refer to SInister Rouge, and then play Overture>Sinister Rouge, perhaps this is similar.

17 would be better, but 16 is still pretty fucking awesome, no complaints here (besides, now i can finally update my b-sides comp i got from demonoid... soon all 21 bsides :D)
also, i think listening to the album with 52 Seconds as the first track is going to make me crap my pants in delight. |

I'm guessing they changed the order when they did the final mixes of the songs, but I'm not sure that they would put any of the songs on myspace. Especially not in the next couple of weeks, we'll just have to wait and see.

Is this some sort of way for them to get us even more amped up for this album? I swear, this new album is probably going to go Platinum in 5 minutes just from the sheer publicity of the whole thing. By the way, I'm camping out at the FYE in the mall near me for the whole week before the release if anyone wants to join.

I live in the uk I didnt play on along the way But I am not the same guy as jay bentley Because he is a different person from me Im sorry But seriously I think we can all expect a new track within the next week. The album seems completely finished now and I cant imagine it taking much longer before they put it on their myspace when they get back from south america (Or are they already back?). I saw Brett online last night, so I kept refreshing their myspace page to see if it would appear, but it didn't.  I'm sorry for playing the prank on you all. I think Brett didn't like it because it sounded "too overproduced". (And The Defense didn't?)

So, one song got the axe and most likely gets the b-side treatment - and there kinda goes the good old Against The Grain feeling.
As a sidenote: Can anybody tell me why "Who We Are" didn't end up on The Process Of Belief? It's one of BR's best songs since Brett's return IMO, the brilliantly rough but still transparent production included. |
