It's 'Megadeth' and they did put out great (and some not so great) albums, one of the best and most original metal bands of all time. Check out their songs 'A Tout Le Monde' and 'Trust' - you'll like them I'm sure.
*sorry, off topic*

well its not street teaming but this is close: my husband has been taking br cds to work to let them sample the sound. so far he has one guy interested to hear more and one chick said she didnt like gregs voice and the songs sound the same. I tell them that there is one br cd to fit everybody..cos theres so many to chose from. its cool tho that they at least give the cd a try. the only down side is that my husband has to listen to their music..which in one case was fall out boy and another case megadeath.

I did a couple of the spread the mp3 project but I didn't get the extra 5 points for taking a screenshot even though I did take a screenshot. Meh.
Where did you read about the mp3 project?
I can't see anything about that on any of the pages.

Yeah, I'm always after BR gear, but the only thing I've been able to get aside from CDs is a Crossbuster shirt which I bought when I was in England.
It's hard to get a hold of stuff over here for a decent price, although I might order something from the BR store that's on their Myspace soon.

I signed up just for the hell of it, but I'm not bothered if I win anything (I'm not sure how I can quite frankly), although some free stuff would be nice.

Nope Su, that wasn't one of the pages me was referring too, so post away :D. And good job Alt+F4, I remember No control being the first album I listened to when I visited a friend one day. He was playing some of the album on his guitar and it sounded kick ass, so he burned me a copy of the album. Even though that was 4 or 5 years ago, I still have that cd-r to remind me of that day.

Su, when you find out how it works, can you let us lot know?
I had a brief look on the page and it doesn't seem very informative of what the whole thing entails.
I have to agree with the other people commenting, I've already done loads of promotional work for Bad Religion without the free merch incentive, telling loads of people I know about them, and giving out compilation CDs I've made to try and get more people into them, as where I live not many people have heard of them. Just last week a friend of mine bought No Control after me sending him an mp3 of I Want To Conquer the World.

huh. i'm not sure which side of the fence I sit on this one, i signed up anyway, but i really don't think BR need people "getting the word out." either way, it's nice to see Brett post again!

Well, I've always wanted to be on a BR street team, so I've signed up. :P Not quite sure how it works, though. I guess I'll find out sooner or later...

Sorry about that guys lol. I was just being cautious, and like I said, it was early so I probably didn't make the right call lol. The main reason I was suspicious was the whole web 2.0 name of fan2band but maybe I'm just behind the times :\.
Thanks for clearing it up Brett, the use of a street team should prove useful and I hope no one is poorly influenced by previous posts mistaking this as spam since it isn't :D.

Hi People, Brett here. Sorry about the corporate look or tone of the street team post but I wanted to tell you it's not spam, we're trying to put a real street team together to get the word out that we have a new record. If this upsets your finer sensibilities than just don't join, but if you want to be part of something fun and join the band in getting something done, then please give it a try. This my first street team experience (yes I'm a member) and it reminds me a lot of the DIY grass roots stuff we used to do back in the 80's. I've even started a couple topics on the teams message board. Either way, thanks for caring about Bad Religion.
Cheers,
Brett

No, you shouldn't need an incentive of merchandise to "spread the word" about something, if you like it then you'll probably tell people about it anyway.

take a look at this "Welcome to the official Bad Religion online street team. Sign up and help spread the word about Bad Religion earning points redeemable for merch, music, and other great prizes."
Come on dammit!!! are you kidding me? The point on Bad Religion is to start thinking a little bit, getting into their great music and their awesome lyrics... not to "spread the word" to win merch... this is not spam, this is a shitty website... Jau, you are absolutely right, the wiki dudes and the admins of this site kick ass! You spread the word on Bad Religion because you like them...
Cheers from Argentina

yea I'm probably not the only one here who thinks this is semi-spam, so whatever idot that posted this and the two other items (one contained another fan2band link, another was more appropriate for BR weekly material) as "news", please stop and think before you post them up, the people that visit this site and the others that are working their ass off with the wiki deserve better.
