First of all, these WILL be prized lower than normal cd's, that has already been announced.
Secondly, Kris, why do you want them released on vinyl??? Vinyl records sound worse than cd's, wear out with time, are harder to listen to (especially separate songs) and most important of all: are outdated. I have a record player but most people don't. Why make the reissues on vinyl so that most people can't listen to them? And why make reissues on vinyl, so that the quality gets worse? In that case, there is no meaning with the reissues right?

I played them all on my stereo, and I really liked the new Big Bang and Give You Nothing, particularly. I found them more powerful than the originals. You could hear the difference if you put No Substance or The Process of Belief right after playing the reissued songs.. I take these reissues as a good way to make me find new sides of the songs, I just hope they will not cost too much.. cause I know I will not resist, and buy them..

Grillo: Well youre right about the low quality of the early recordings. No doubt about it. And of course personally I like music with a good sound. But I wont buy a record again, that I already have, just because the sound is a little improved. And I listen quite a lot to early Calipunk, and there?s barely any real good sound quality, but I love it anyways! And the old version are the ones I dig for like a decade now, why change this?

i personally find the original No Control album too sound the poorest, too much treble, almost no bass, the drums sound too thin etc etc.

i dont think its punkrock too have a sound thats sounds like it was recorded was from one tape to the next tape a million times. and even if they play only 4 chords (whicht often they dont), there is a difference if it sounds like you are actually there or behind three walls, if you get what i mean. i think punk rock has to sound the way its played, nothing more and nothing less, so in that sense it makes sense to re-issue them, as they said, its about getting the analog stuff onto the digital level at the best original quality.

I don?t hear a big difference, and anyway I think punk rock isn?t supposed to be too clean. You know, like what?s the point making the guitar sounds cleaner when they just play 3-4 chords

The songs where I felt more difference were the ones from How Could Hell... I think they endend sound better than Suffer, where I didn't feel much difference. The ones for No Control, I must say it has always been my fav one... I don't, but I think I like the old versions better... I didn't like how the guitar sound in this versions...

admin -> I uploaded them for you!
boogada -> I totally disagree. I just can't stand bad quality, especially the quality of the first ep songs, those are just plain awful. I'm glad about this remastering, makes those songs sound a bit better.

yeah, the epitaph server seems to be down right now. Hope they'll fix that during the day. Can someone who have downloaded the songs upload them on my ftp server 'cause I have only listened to songs streamed. Then i can put them up on this site (if that's legal?)
if you want to upload the songs heres the login info:
address: ftp://nr23se.campus.luth.se
loginname: reissue
password: badreligion
(and this is for UPLOADING the songs only! I'll put the songs on this site as soon as i get them)

Hmm yeah there are little differences, but its not worth buying an album I already have. I even have an vinyl copy of How could hell, because I love the cover artwork. It?s still sealed, I only love to watch the LP, while listening to the 80-85 CD. I guess a lot of 80?s punk album have really shitty sounds, but isnt that the reason why we love em?

I think it was a huge difference for Fuck armageddon. Now you can actually hear what Greg is singing. I'm definitely going to get that one now. Haven't heard the other one's yet

Against The Grain sounds much better. I always thought while the album itself was a masterpiece, the production in AtG was kind of weak.

I listened again on Suffer and No Control... the big difference is the guitar sound, but I'm not sure I like it much more than the original.

Yep. Against the grain sounds much better... Generator a little bit better and I think there's quite an improvement on how could hell as well... could be my imagination though. I didn't even notice a difference on suffer and no control.

I need a decent site for uploading the files to. Anyway, here is my first try at splicing them together. A simple one of How Could Hell Be Any Worse. http://bumcheeks.250free.com/HCHBAW.mp3
Hope the link works

The easy way to download the songs is to right click the links, and pick (I forgot the real IE saying, as I use Mozilla) "save target as..." or something along those lines
For mozilla - netscape , use "Save link target as.."
