FAVE TRACKS: Murder, H and M, New Dark Ages, Prodigal Son, Dearly Beloved, Lost Pilgrim, Think Before You Die, 52 seconds
LEAST FAVE TRACKS: Scrutiny (pretty lazy songwriting in the verses but nice bit at the end of the chorus: A-ny-mooore!), Submission Complete (a bit like beyond electric dreams, outstays its welcome by about a minute, and chorus is a bit like something else...oh i know SHADES OF TRUTH! (while people by their millions, get thrown into this zoo...)), Requiem for Dissent (b-side at best, wonder if the DKmurphys guest on it?).
What the HELL is FIELDS OF MARS about. Someone in those review said "great message". What is the message?
SUMMARY: Its a grower. probably the most thorough of the new holy trilogy and probably my favourite.

i think scrutiny is a great emotionally charged song, br at their best, well greg in particular cuz it sounds like a greg song, its a great album, unlike the past few records i don't feel the need to hit the skip button at all, a return to form for sure imo, best album ive heard in a while.

Yes there is. The wrong opinion is the one that doesn't agree with mine.

Every song on this record is a gem.....many times reviewers are right...but these guys are flat-out wrong in a few areas. "Heroes & Martyrs" is probably my favorite Bad Religion song since well....since "I Want To Conquer The World".

I know that 1 year from now everybody wil agree that the unmentioned Lost Pilgrim is the best track along with Grains of Wrath.
That happened before with Them and Us. At first underrated and a little after becomes a FAN favorite. Not sure if its THE BEST, but top 2 or 3.

I think the album is amazing!!! Very very good!!! Bad Religion definitely doesn?t have the best album, the worst album, I think it?s very difficult to say that
5 songs I like most - DEARLY BELOVED, GRAINS OF WRATH, NEW DARK WAGES, BEFORE YOU DIE, SCRUTINY
I think the album has a great atmosphere of planets, stars, spaceships flying through galaxies (specially the slow part of "The Grand Delusion" and "Grains of Wrath")..I don?t know if you feel the same, but I imagine a dark sky with lots of shinning stars when I listen to the album. Maybe because of the oozin? ahs too. The quality recordind is unbelieveable.
Thank you so much Bad Religion!!! Please, at least more 10 records :)

on rollingstone.com, it says that there is a compilation called "Complete Control Radio Stations Id's" that was released in 2006 featuring BR, Social D and the Vandals. Does anyone know what BR song is on there? Has anyone ever even heard of that comp? It is nowhere to be found on the internet.

...here's a preliminary summation of my thoughts from the past few days of constant repeat...:
Overall it seems like the album is an "Honest Goodbye". It feels like a retrospective on the band's career with winks and nods to various "eras" at every turn. We see old formulae reinvigorated, and B-sides revisited (does anyone else think Fields of Mars is basically what became of Queen of the 21st Century?). Personally I'm confused and a little irked by the inclusion of 52 seconds on the record, nonetheless the decision for it to the intro- the "energy" and "power" of the song seem forced and really it feels like an impotent record compared to basically the rest of the album. Overall, it is a decent record and I wouldn't mind it being the last real BR album, though I would certainly like to here more from the crew.
Stand out songs: New Dark Ages, Heroes and Martyrs, Requiem for Dissent, Scrutiny, Germs of Perfection, Dearly Beloved, Grains of Wrath, and Lost Pilgrim.

It's funny how opinions can vary so much; one reviewer saying he didn't think much of Heroes & Martyrs, when the other said it was very good. One says Dearly Beloved sounds rushed, when it is one of my favourite tracks on the album.
Just shows reviews are nothing but people's opinions. Not necessarily good ones either. Just opinions.

The bonus tracks are acoustic versions of Sorrow and God's Song, which I'd imagine will fit nicely with the rest of the album :D.

Definately disagree with his staments on scrutiny and prodigol son. Scrutiny IS amazing and Prodigal son couldve been left off. just my opinion though

This cd is awesome. All of the songs are stellar except for a few which are just good. I think that Scrutiny is a really good song, I don't know why it is not given lots of credit in reviews. Honest Goodbye is the weak link on this record, but it has grown on me. Very experimental and the drumming is insane. What are the two bonus tracks on the import version?

It's probably due to amount of songs on it. Whereas it's 16 songs and it is one of the longer albums, more songs may make it sound like it's shorter.
Of course, if you think it's too short, just get the import version w/ the 2 bonus tracks :D.

Why do people complaining that this album is too short when it's really one of the longer BR albums :S.
