New Bad Religion video coming...

Yesterday before their Warped Tour appearance at the final stop in Carson, CA, Bad Religion was filming their new music video. It will be for the song "New Dark Ages". I received this information from a friend that works at Epitaph and was on the set yesterday. This person showed me some cell phone pictures of the set with the band playing in front of a chain link fence. This person (who I'm purposely keeping anonymous) also said that the video will be inter cut with "lots of other clips of stuff."
Also as an impressive note, Greg Hetson played 3 separate times at the Warped show in Carson! First he was on stage with his side band Black President. Then later in the night he played with Bad Religion, which directly afterward he had to hightail it to the special "Old School" stage to play with the Circle Jerks. There was supposed to be a performance of Punk Rock Karaoke at this show also, but it was canceled. Hetson is everywhere!

Who cares, fuck this shit. New Dark Ages is one of the best songs Bad Religion wrote in the last 17 years and if the video ends up like Atomic Garden, more power to them I say. Stop the whining. I don't think "NMoH" or "TESF" has a song that could match the potential for a fantastic single that Broken had, but was unfortunately never realised. Musically Broken was a good step for Bad Religion - and only in small part due to the acoustic segments. It was really a very clever song.
I wouldn't necessarily advise BR to get a new near-student film-maker (for any future videos); they just shouldn't rely on the uninspired efficient cheap producers that seem to dominate the music-video market for independent bands. Although, as it's the band that pays for their own videos, it's BR who have to care about that form of publicity and musical presentation. It's kind of surprising, however, that they don't have any favours to call in from some interesting film makers. Alternatively, they could call on David Bragger again - he seems to like them. |

"New dark ages" is a good song for a video exept that MTV is not gonna appreciate this kinda song! Honnest goodbye is more appropriate for MTV. Anyway, BR can doe what they want!

Yea, it's nice to hear BR getting played on the radio. It's actually among the top10 most played songs at Radio Rock. I also heard Dearly Beloved which I thought was very surprising.

Huh. I don't know. Honest Goodbye is actually the only Bad Religion song I've ever heard on the radio here in Sweden. I don't listen to radio that much, only for about 5-10 minutes when I eat breakfast. I've heard HG on the radio 3 times. I haven't heard Sorrow or LA Is Burning on the radio.

I know Brett is friends with Verbinski, but I'm not a big fan of his directing style.. I think they should go to NYU or USC and recruit a film student.. I'm in a film school in Nashville... Film students music videos are always more original

I have to agree with brett religion about honest goodbye not being as succesful as they hoped for. It is definitely never going to be as succesful as sorrow or la is burning. I hear those songs a lot more on kroq than HG.

they filmed the videos for broken and sorrow in the same day, but didn't release them at the same time.
They probably want to get all the marketing production done before they tour behind the album, especially if they are going to Australia and other places away from Epitaph's major regional offices. |

Bad Religion really needs to find another new and resourceful director, viz. Verbinski mk.2. Or, splash out the money again like they did for "10 in 2010" with Francis Lawrence.

Maybe the response to Honest Goodbye as a single for radio was not the one they expected, so they decided to move on [save money] and give it a try with New Dark Ages. After all, I see New Dark Ages as the equivalent to All Ther Is, which should have been THE TESF's single, followed by LA is Burning and Let Them Eat War, and Boot Stamping on a Human Face Forever. Yes, you read that correctly. Boot Stamping... would have made a hell of a video. Still, I think there's a lot of room for improvement for Honest Goodbye as a single if turned into a video. The thing is BR should push videos a lot more and, let's face it, refrain from appearing in them. Based on their image alone, if Green Day or Blink 182 were to shoot videos for any of the above songs, they would become instant hits.

Huh. I find it kinda weird that they are shooting the second video before even releasing the first one. Also, it feels like we've gotten lots more info about the New Dark Ages video than about the Honest Goodbye video.

I Happy there's a new br video, but honestly this sound kinda crappy, People playing music in front of a fence. But Br doesn't really have a history of grate music videos anyways.
