wow, exact same set lists 2 nights in a row (probably more like 4 or 5 nights in a row) ...this is why I don't feel so bad when I miss a bad religion show anymore. in 2000, for the "New America" tour they played a much MUCH more diverse set. This just isn't exciting anymore...

1. I would come to the NS show. No Substance is amongst my top 5 BR albums.
2. "Stick it in my eye", well... nah, I wouldn't. "Stickin' in my eye" is the proper title.
3. And though the Offspring made that song years before BR did theirs, I prefer Shattered Faith over The kids... any day!
Who I'm replying too, I forget. So, if you feel hit, be so.

I know another song. New america also sounds a lot like "kids in america" from Kim Wilde. the part "we're the kids in america, whoaoh" is very similar to "we are the new america whoaoh" and some other guy said the verse was like the beegees's "tragedy"

Creighton- listen to the Offspring's "The kids are alright" it's VERY similar guitars..Jay HATES that song...he even said that when they were recording it he went out and bought the Offsprings album and played that song for hte band.
On a Side note..the song "Hear it" is VERY similar to an adolescents song(forget which one). The intro the Epiphany is also an intro to a NOFX song(forget which one) and The song No
Control is not original Music either.
RatGuy has more info on that stuff.

Creighton, they are referring to the strong similarities between Shattered Faith and the Offspring song The Kids Aren't Alright. The chorus of Shattered Faith is very, very similar to the chorus of Kids Aren't Alright. Have a listen and you will hear it pretty clearly!

I know when Mike first interviewed Jay he said that the song 'Shattered Faith' had no real meaning and that's why it was left off the record...but did we know that it was an Offspring song? What does that mean anyway? Is he picking fun, or did the Offspring write it for them?
On the Offspring's DVD they mention writing a song for Bad Religion a while back but Brett refused it. (Shattered Faith wasn't it though.) The Offspring later used the same tune for their song 'All I Want.'

great story, thank you. I enjoyed reading it. I don't really care if they play different songs or not. But I really hope they'll record another "tested" record with songs from 98-07. I love that album.

...while Brian was drumming.
"When BR retire they would like to do a retirement tour where they would play each song of every album. He wasn't sure if many fans would turn up for the NS show though."
Maybe it would be more exciting for the band and the fans if BR wouldn't play complete albums per night, but, say, a string of 5 or so songs of one album leading to songs of another one. And then changing the songs of the respective albums after several shows. Anyway, that would mean a hell of a lot of rehearsals...
And I REALLY hope Brett will be able to take a couple of months off for the very last Bad Religion tour. I'd love to see him one last time performing with the band, everything else would feel kind of, well, incomplete for me.
But not yet. I'd be fine with another studio album.

Seriously though, I just loooooove stuff like that, like when Greg played guitar on Pessimistic Lines and let Mr. A sing instead.
