Last night's SD show was one of the best BR shows I've ever seen. They were incredibly tight, looked invigorated and incredibly passionate about playing Golden Era BR songs. I'll admit the last few times, they've been good but not as inspired as this. This show rivaled the Hollywood Palladium show night where they were filming a DVD and that's saying alot because that was an L.A. show and SD shows usually don't muster the same energy. Here's the songs they played. Other tidbits are that Jay is awesome, incredibly passionate. Hetson didn't have his same leg kick energy, Baker played very tight, Brooks was on point as usual, Graffin looked trimmer and better than in recent years and seemed to care alot more this time. He brought out the singer girl from opening act (she's hot) and awkwardly said it was the best looking opening act in history beating out korn just slightly (when Korn opened for BR 12 years ago). crowd was well behaved, i was in front center in the thick of it -was crazy up there, but behind us the crowd looked like a typical SD crowd - fun but not ridiculous.

Here are pictures of me with the setlist that I got from a House of Blues stage crew guy right after Saturday night's show ended. I look kind of strung out because I just got back home from the airport after a long flight home from San Diego to Baltimore! The set list had stage tape on it and the pages got stuck against each other, so I had to do two pics to show both sides:

I went to the March 9th show in SD... I have seen BR at least 10 times live since the first time in 1993... and this was probablt the best show of theirs I've seen.

for me, the best part of hearing this show, besides how fucking awesome the sets are and how much fun the band is clearly having, is hearing graffin sing "whatcho" again. It had been a few years.
gives me confidence this band will stick around awhile yet. |

Friday and Saturday night in San Diego was sweet; It was great seeing all of those rare songs played live. The 90's set from La did not seem to have anything real special that I have not seen over the last 12 years going to BR shows except for News from the Front. It would be good to see some of the last tracks from Generator. (Fertile Crescent, chimaera, only Entertainment etc.)
