Some bands are maybe just as good musically but very few, if any, can compare lyrically. Although, I like to think the songs I've written have come pretty close.

I envy these 'merican guys who get to go and see this event. The lineup is quite nice; BR,PW,Offspring & Metallica at the same event..NICE!! I'd really would like to see PW live someday!

True but one cant argue they sold out their sound knowing they could play the good ole stuff. Some of this new stuff of theirs sounds a lot better than say ixnay soo.. I know they CAN still be good. But look at the lawsuit issue with epi and them.. I bet 10-1 it was due to music style differences, paradigm conflicts if you will. And money.. lol

I'm kinda tired of this "Bands I listen to: Offspring (Smash and before).....". Offspring is shit and always has been. Smash ain't great. There are million better bands out there.
The biggest difference between poppy Offspring songs and poppy BR songs is that the Offspring songs are at least supposed to be funny. And even if "but they didn't have Ice Cube so he bought Vanilla Ice" is kinda funny, I still prefer Los Angeles is Burning when it comes to lyrics (and music too).

Yes, offspring commercial songs were poppy... but they are punk cause they don't act like the pistols, bad religion, ramones, etc... They are who they like to be, and for me that's pretty cool. Bad Religion and offspring are the best punk bands nowadays (pennywise is awesome, but bad religion wannabe, sorry)

dexter holland does have a whiny voice now but i still like the band also diego just skip tracks like Pretty fly (for a white guy) and Why don't you get a job and americana is a good album
