For those of you who just visit the news section: I've also posted a little review of that show on the message board.

@ikillkenny:
As much as I would like to hear Grains Of Wrath, it would be way to hard for Graffin to sing it... unless they play it lower than normal... hmm...

Wait...I just read the paragraph at the top. This might be the best review ever! I especially love the sentence, "Objectively speaking, the show wasn't as good as some of us assumed it would be but all in all, that evening made our dreams come true."
Isn't that the last line on 'Unknown Road?'

Hey Jay, do you guys plan on playing Grains of Wrath at some point in the future? That's probably my favorite song on NMoH and I've heard a lot of people holding it in high regard as well. It would be a shame if it doesn't get played before the next album comes out.

Hey, while we're all mixing it up, wouldn't it be great if Jay and Graffin worked in some Daredevils material for the next tour?!?

Yep, Sowing The Seeds in Canada, that was in 2006... would've killed to see that.
I think they played it in 2002 too, along with Hear It. Strange though, none was in the "C Set".
It's Only Over when, would be a blast to hear, I guess this one won't be played in a hundred years.

They've played sewing during the Canada tour. Surprised they didn't play that during the New Maps of Hell Vegas and CA shows

Yeah, well, I was somehow trying to deny that misconceived statement that BR didn't play Brett-less era songs when Brett was onstage simply because he wouldn't know them... As if Brett couldn't just strum his guitar while the other two guitars handle the job.

If I remember correctly, they played Sowing... sometime during the PoB tour. Think it was the stint in Germany when Brett travelled with them, in early 2002.

Also, I would [insert appropriate action to show gratitude] if you played News From The Front in Kiel. Although the set will probably not be long enough to bust out rarities. Still, hope dies last.

@W!,
Jesse could be right. At one point Greg was mentioning that the soccer game was almost over. Then Jay said something like "it's only over when..." and played the riff, which Jesse recognized. Greg cracked a smile but turned away immediately. Jay followed up by saying something like "I tried...". I don't remember exactly.

jesse, you imagined it. A thousand monkeys with a thousand instruments and one of them might reproduce an ITU song. That's what happened the first time, anyways.

Jay, minus the soccer/wallet interruptions the show still was 75/80 minutes or so.
I do think 75/80 minutes is long enough, but a surprising change in setlist is always welcome.
Anyway, about the Amsterdam show...I'm wondering if I've heard it right, so please help me out; did you play a part of "It's only over when"??? Or did I just imagined it (my boyfriend can't remember it).

When it comes to places like Australia, I see it both ways. If tours in yr area are rare, then something like 'Infected' still packs a mighty punch and would be criminal if they left it out. In LA, where it has been a radio staple, it also has some unique meaning. In the rest of the US and Europe maybe not, and they could do with it what they please. But remember something: reading set lists on line and trading boots pales in comparison to being at the shows, and that's what matters. If you follow the band around in a van, yeah, song choice might get a little monotonous for you, same goes for comparing the lists online from day to day. But there's no denying that when BR plays my town (*cough*Houston*cough*) I'm gonna get hyped up for 'Generator'&'Sorrow' because it's an "in the moment" kind of thing that's worth all of the $20 at the door. And moving 'Digital Boy' to the opener = smartest setlist move in years.

hey, i'm right with you guys... but i'm only one of 6, and the setlists have to be fairly democratic... with a slight hint of dictatorial line item veto abuse for good measure. to be fair, there are songs that we just cannot play, and to be honest, i think some songs we don't play should be played. it must be said though, that last night in amsterdam we played for an hour and a half and people are still complaining about set time lengths. dogbert, we have NEVER played for 2 hours... ever.

I'm from the USA, and I agree with you too. While you got some songs like Punk Rock Song and A Walk, you didn't get Fields of Mars or News From the Front or any of the acoustic things.
I was disappointed with the Australian sets too, first time playing that country in over 10 years, and it's just a standard set with like, 2 rarities(I think Sanity and Faith Alone htey played)

I kinda agree with Dogbert.
The people in Cali are way too spoiled. They get longer sets and there's also more variety in the setlist.
Here in Europe we won't ever hear a song like Fields of Mars, or News from the Front, etc. Comparing with the setlists of 2004/2005, 18 songs out of the 24/25 are played every year!

Thank you StevenF for uploading that, especially the original AVI file which I'm downloading now.
The guitar riff that Brian plays in the beginning is pretty cool, anybody think they can tab it?(I'm decent at guitar, just suck at tabbing stuff)

Jay is surely gonna jump at me if/when he reads this but it really bothers me that when they tour Europe or South America they do 24 to 25 song gigs, unlike their almost 2-hour Cali shows, when it should be the other way about. California should get 24 songs per gig, given that they play there every fucking 6 months. I SO FUCKING HATE THEM.
