Review:
The String Quartet Tribute to Bad Religion with History Repeating.
Punk rock played by violins, viola and cellos? Yes, thats true. And the String Quartet does it really good! The album consists of 12 tribute songs all played by classic string instruments. When listening to the album you can actually feel that all original instruments are there. Jays bass is there, Gregs voice and Hetsons guitar is there in the form of violins and cellos and that is really cool. The most impressing songs are Los Angeles is Burning and The Empire Strikes First.
I actually tried to do mix the songs from this album with the original Bad Religion songs to make some kind of Bad Religion and the Symphony a la Metallicas album S&M. My Garage Band skills stoped me from mixing the songs with good result but if someone is good at mixing, why not give it a try?
Songs:
American Jesus
Sorrow
21st Century (Digital Boy)
Struck a Nerve
Fuck Armageddon…This Is Hell
Overture
Sinister Rouge
Two Babies in the Dark
Los Angeles Is Burning
The Answer
Infected
The Empire Strikes First
The album can be bought at Vitaminrecords (cheapest webstore I found)

No one, ever, ever, ever needs to do something "a la Metallicas album S&M." Ever.
Jay, please tell Brett.

Thanks! in retrospect I think I'd leave the overture part out, because they really don't mesh that well, hence it being without strings almost the whole time.

You did a great job, Mike. I thought the only part that didn't work was in the intro when the drums were playing together. other than it sounds cool

It's tough to do these without access to actual tracks, and most of the string versions use differesnt timing and phrasing. but i did one of Overture+Sinister Rouge and I think it turned out pretty good.

Isn't this incredibly old news? And I tried mixing struck a nerve with it..I could only use portions to make it sound o.k.
