Record Store Day unites indie retailers "as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA, and hundreds of similar stores internationally."
Bad Religion will celebrate Record Store Day with the first-ever re-release of the record that started it all: 1981's 6-song 7" EP, to be pressed on colored vinyl. In a tribute to RSD 2009, Bad Religion founder/Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz wrote:
"I got my start by going around to record stores like Moby Disc and Middle Earth and giving them The Bad Religion 7" to sell on consignment. I'd go back every couple of weeks to see if they needed any more and while I was at it I'd always check out the zines, flyers and new punk releases. These places were more than stores, they were gathering places and hubs of information. They were the heart of the LA Hardcore scene and it would never have existed without them."
One could question if this really is the first re-release of the self-titled EP. Apparently it was already re-released on 12" vinyl. And in 1989 it was once again re-released in Germany as a 7", where it came bundled with the first pressing of the No Control LP. This one, however, only had a plain white paper sleeve. Check out all images in the discography.

Wow Record Store Day is on my birthday? That's neat.
Also cool about that re-release.

I guess that's kind of interesting. Not going to buy it, but neat nonetheless. Hopefully, a rerelease of Into the Unknown is next, but BR will probably make a gospel cd before even considering that :(
hmm but I hope it will be on cd and remastered
No way, buy a record player, hahaha.
I've been looking for the original press for years. I've only seen it once, and the seller was asking for $191. God wouldn't spend that much money on a record...
he'd just take a rib out of Hetson's guitar and create his own. HA, puns...

I know the rule about off topic posts, but this is the only place it can go... am I the only one who sees the emo chat ad in the "Ads by google" bar? LOL
