The latest newsletter for the 2009 Warped Tour announced two new track packs for Rock Band. And of course, it includes Bad Religion.
"The Rock Band Warped Tour Track Pack"
Release dates:
Track listing:
The only official Bad Religion songs that have been released so far (eventhough Infected is a cover) are:
- Sorrow (for Rock Band 1 & 2)
- Infected (cover) (for Guitar Hero 1 & 2)
However, apparently it's also possible to make custom Guitar Hero song charts:
- 21st Century (Digital Boy)
- American Jesus (youtube)
- Atomic Garden (youtube)
- Heroes & Martyrs (youtube)
- Inner Logic
- I Want to Conquer the World
A couple of the above mentioned songs can be found here.
For Frets on Fire even more Bad Religion songs are available:
- American Jesus
- At The Mercy of Imbeciles
- Atheist Peace
- Change of Ideas
- Drunk Sincerity
- Frogger
- Infected (youtube)
- I want to Conquer the World
- Pity The Dead
- Punk Rock Song
- Scrutiny
- Struck A Nerve
- Supersonic (youtube)
Frets on Fire is a free, open-source Finnish music video game. Players use the keyboard to play along with markers which appear on screen, with the aim to score points, achieve a high point multiplier, and complete a song. Frets on Fire basically is a video game that imitates the commercial game Guitar Hero. It is playable on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
For those of you who'd rather pick up a real guitar instead of a plastic Fisherprice® toy, check this out. There's this guy on youtube who over the last couple of months has added 18 videos in which he plays along with Bad Religion songs. Being a crappy guitar player myself I really enjoy watching him play.
This is what he did so far: Beyond Electric Dreams, God's Love, Sinister Rouge, Do What You Want, All There Is, Progress, The World Won't Stop Without You, No Control, You, Big Bang, Destined For Nothing, Shattered Faith, Materialist, Anxiety, Prove It, Supersonic, Bored & Extremely Dangerous, Can't Stop It
Extra tidbit: Bad Religion songs that made it into other video games: Crazy Taxi, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, Tony Hawk's Project 8, NCAA Football 2006, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller and NHL 2K9.

I hate YouTube (well not really, but sometimes yeah). Why would someone record a video of himself playing a cover song (with no improvising whatsoever) and why would I like to see something like that? Start a band or something.
The reason that we posted those vids is because they can teach you how to play BR songs...remember...not everybody is a guitar hero. Sometimes it's just easier to learn something by watching it first. And this guy has edited his vids in a way that both the rhythm guitar and solos are shown at the same moment.
also, he's doing them all by ear with no tablature, including the solos.
its not a hack by any means.. the person who originally made the software .. is the hacker.. people using it arent..
its a MOD.. and yes pc is easier but trying to convince me to stand near my desk or hoook up my pc to my tv is just to much for me lol
dont understand why you dont support 3... granted the list sucks but its a much more developed game than 1 or 2... no clue what you are on about .. (shrug)

Yeah, I meant mod... woops.
But uh, the reason for my GH3 and on hate is that Harmonix got booted from the franchise after 2, and went on to make Rock Band under a different publisher. Neversoft developed the shitty GH3 where the note charts make absolutely no sense, and now today we see Activision running the GH license into the ground.
It's not right, I tell ya!

Okay, being honest, is anyone looking ford to any of those other songs in the track list? I know I'm not. Still, Tuesday is going to be a long wait.

Another thing (really offtopic) but I hate how 33% of the audience at bigger concerts are more concerned in filming the show with their crappy mobile phone camera than singing along and HAVING FUN. And of course one has to comment every crappy video shot on the show on YouTube the day after the show, "I was there too lol great show awesome moshpitz".
Wow, I really sound like an whining wannabe-old schooler now, haha.
(My crappy hardcoreband does a faster version of Pessimistic Lines sometimes, guess I should videotape our next show and post it here.)

By the way, the custom GH tracks are only made possible through a hack. The PC version, however, is much easier.
But then again, don't support any of the GH's after 2, since the original guys from 1 & 2 are developing the Rock Band franchise!

nropevolI - there weren't any master tracks by bands that weren't comprised of people from Harmonix in GH1.
Oh, how I hope this is the ATG version. Should be fun.
Anybody here who knows why "Infected" was a cover on Guitar Hero?
In an interview with Jay he said no one cared when the game first came out so they gave them permission to use the song but they re-recorded it with some band. I really wish they got a better vocalist though. The singer in the Guitar Hero version sounds like the City Wok guy from South Park.

Anybody here who knows why "Infected" was a cover on Guitar Hero? I think the most important thing from an official game like GH is that if you don't play or screw up, it doesn't use the guitar-track. So is it a cover because BR or sony didn't give the multi-track files to GH?
Maybe a little off topic but I think it would be so awesome if Greg (and maybe other BR musicians) played acoustic songs on youtube. Like that Rivers Cuomo guy from weezer who interact with his fans on youtube.

I'm gonna have to get some more Microsoft Points. Sorrow was a good song to play but got a little boring after playing it too long.
