After fourteen years Bad Religion will once again be opening for Pearl Jam.
When? On August 23 and 24
Where? At the United Center in Chicago
Read more about it on the Pearl Jam website.
Thanks to Keith and modernman85 for reporting this!
As we already reported two weeks ago in part I of our Warped Tour Specials, Bad Religion will indeed be returning to Canada.
On September 12 they will be performing at The Envol et Macadam Festival in Quebec City, Canada.
You will also be able to check out Punk Rock Karaoke the day before, on the 11th.
If more shows will pop up, you'll be the first to hear about it.
Extra tidbit - Of the 15 shows that were planned in 1995, 7 were canceled. Although the real reason is remains unknown, the band did report on it in issue #5 of Bad Times.

I saw a show with Pearl Jam this weekend in Berlin and Eddie talk about when they did a show with Bad Religion in Berlin in 1993.
Eddie said: "I remember when we were here in 1993 with a great band called Bad religion. Bad religion is still a great band and religion is still bad."
I thought this was a national tour....oh well I probably wouldn't have gone anyway (I live in Los Angeles.) I love Pearl Jam and, obviously, Bad Religion is my favorite band of all time....but why would I want to go to a huge arena for a concert when I could see BR play at the HOB or the Whiskey? I hope the new Pearl Jam is good...'The Fixer', although different, is stuck in my head and really growing on me. And the excitement is already building within me for a new BR next year :) :)
You're right it's sounds a bit different, bet Matt Cameron had a finger in the writing

When I first read this story I freaked out because I thought Ted Leo AND Bad Religion were playing on the same bill. Like Ted was going to open for them, and then BR would open for Pearl Jam. Or vice versa, whichever.
I was slightly disappointed when I realized that this was not the case...
Great news! Expect to find live recordings of these two shows on the net. Pearl Jam fans are heavily into "taping".
But wouldn't they only tape the Pearl Jam section if they are Pearl Jam? Unless they happen to be Bad Religion fans also.

This sucks, I live in Chicago, but I have to be out of town on both those days. Damn it.

Nropevoll, yeah, it would pretty cool. I think there's a quite good possibility that Eddie will join them on either Watch It Die or American Jesus (the former being the one where Eddie is most noticeable, but the latter being one of the biggest BR-hits).

According to Wikipedia, Eddie Vedder provided backing vocals on "American Jesus" and sung the second verse of "Watch It Die".
Looking at the comments on PJ's website, it seems that their fans are very positive about BR. Cool.

How fun would it be if Eddie Vedder and BR played "watch it die" an "A.J."?

Good stuff. When Graffin said BR would play with PJ again I guess he didn't think it'd be this long.
