After several weeks of intense touring, Bad Religion will finally get some time to relax before they will have to show up on stage again. However, for those who can't get enough of the Warped Tour, there will be one more Warped show to go to: the Vans Warped Tour 15th Anniversary Celebration Event. This special event to honor the Vans Warped Tour's 15th anniversary will take place on September 6 at the Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Bad Religion will be playing along with The All-American Rejects, Katy Perry, NOFX, Ozomatli, The Aggrolites, The Decaydance All Stars, Ice T, Pennywise, Rise Against and Underoath.
Check the official trailer:
September 6 - Club Nokia, Los Angeles, CA. (All Ages)
Tickets available at:
ticketmaster.com
For those who won't be able to attend the live show, don't worry, on September 17, a special two-hour film can be seen in 460 movie theaters nationwide. The film features parts of the Club Nokia live show and some behind-the-scenes footage. Check the following video to see why Brian Baker and Greg Hetson insist why everyone should see this film:

It just so tame...what the hell does a Christian pop artist like Katy Perry doing on here? That's about as far from Bad Religion as one can get, it's almost insulting to the band to even be on the same bill. Thankfully, Bad Religion's lyrics speak for themselves.

I like the fans without the "punk uniform". When someone looks "normal" in jeans and a t shirts, at least I know he or she is there for the music. In my own experience the punk looking kids know lesser words of BR music than the others at a concert

I do agree with you - punk is not a uniform, nor should it be (there is a great Anti-Flag song about that - "Punk by the Book" I think. But it provides for an interesting visual comparison nonetheless - not to mention the fact that I just feel old around all these teeny-boppers now.

I'll have to point - as you may probably agree with - that the typical punk attire is not necessarily a great thing by itself. Personally, my only punk-equipment is my Bad Religion T-shirt, and I don't really see a reason for me to wear any punk-gear. I don't look down on people who does, though, but I think you should be careful not to become too much punk-stereotypical.
I would agree that it's sad that there's too many young people who like random poppy punk bands, without being familiar with the old and great bands, like Bad Religion and NOFX, who originally defined the genre. But I guess that "real" punk just isn't for everyone. If everyone listened to BR, the band wouldn't be like it is, I guess.

Its funny - so much has changed beyond the acts, particularly the demographic of the attendees. When I went to Warped for the first time 10 years ago it was unusual to see someone who wasn't dressed in the "typical" punk attire - mohawks, chains, combat boots ect. When I went this year, the average age was about 15, the vast majority of them being little emo girls, and their emo/pussy-punk boyfriends. There were maybe a dozen mohawks in the crowd. These kids don't even know who bands like Bad Religion and NOFX are.

i agree.. and i think they might to.. while warped is good exposure its far from the best for touring..
jay .. greg .. greg.. all have said the best are the small clubs in their minds.. but .. thats not really an exposure tour..
though idk why they keep doing it.. other than its easy booking... its def not easy playing..

I wish they would play something other than the Warped Tour...it's so fake and commercial these days, Bad Religion are literally one of maybe 5 punk bands on the entire roster....and of those most of them are restricted to early afternoon slots (Flipper, FEAR.)

Blink 182 didn't really drop out, they just don't play a live show, but they will make a special video appearance that night (at least that's what the original sources stated).

Well, I guess it's just a show in which all bands/artists play a few songs...can't be a full set for each since there are too many on the list and the show starts at 6 PM (so there's only approximately 6/7 hours time for 11/12 bands).
And that film will (of course) not only be about BR...it's a kind of documentary about the Warped Tour's history, with some live material (filmed during the Celebration event) and some behind-the-scenes footage from that same night (maybe interviews?).

no cameras or video allowed in nokia... as for what is to be recorded i think its a few songs from each band.. not sure yet, nor was the event manager.
i DONT however think this will be a pure 100% br show on the big screen.. but rather 2 hrs of random songs from the show..
get ready for katie perry and ice T on the big screen too?? lol

UPDATE:
the venue is about 2300 people, only 300-400 will be allowed in the pit on the main floor reguardless of GA standing tickets.
if you dont get there early you will be standing along the back and side walls.. not in front.
This comes from the event manager at the nokia..
he would recommend standing about 12pm or so for pit bracelets, and he said you can still get pit if you buy balcony tickets.. in case you want to sit for the crappy bands and stand for the good.
still no clue who is headling or how long they play.. even the club doesnt know yet so i assume not many will atm.
